​​​​​​​Samolian: We owe Kurdish resistance, PKK must be removed from

 The Court of Cassation upheld the 2019 appeals court’s decision that the PKK cannot be considered a “terrorist organization” and that no trial can be conducted in this framework.

 After this decision, there was talk of removing the name of the PKK from the "terror list" in the British Parliament as well.  Many intellectuals, writers, and politicians also support this latest debate about removing the PKK name from the 'terror list'.

 The co-chair of the Association for Support and Freedom, Anek Samolian, explained that keeping the name of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) on the "terror list" is torture against the Kurdish people.

 She pointed out that keeping the PKK on the 'terror list' it is intended to suppress the Kurdish people, and said, "The PKK is a resistance movement that emerged to protect the Kurdish people from the brutality of the Turkish state. If the PKK is called a terrorist, this is a denial of millions  of people who struggle against state terrorism. The PKK transcends all layers of Kurdish society and presents a new political project based on our human values. Despite the silence of the international community, no one should remain silent about this unjust behavior."

She pointed out that the PKK did not commit any violent practices in Europe, on the contrary, it is considered a symbol of the struggle against ISIS mercenaries, and explained that the PKK saved thousands of Yazidis from genocide and said, "These same forces also fought against ISIS in Kobani and Makhmour.  and Raqqa.Thousands of male and female fighters were martyred to defend our freedom.The PKK did not commit any attack in France but ISIS did,and the Turkish state on January 9, 2013 killed three Kurdish women peace leaders.So the PKK should not stay on  existing in France and Europe.

 "The United Nations is not fulfilling its responsibility"

 She spoke about the attempts to remove the PKK name from the "terror list" and said, "The parliamentary group discussed the issue in a principled manner in the British Parliament. The European Union sees the PKK as a 'terrorist organisation'? But there is no confirmed framework or approach to terrorism at the international level as a whole.  Even the United Nations cannot define this definition. In general, it sees the increasing violence as terrorism. The inclusion of the PKK on this 'blacklist' is illegal and inhumane."

 “The Turkish state sees people or organizations that debate its authority or the unilateral system of the state or do not accept them as ‘terrorists’ and in this way it sees the most appropriate way to legitimize its attacks against legitimate fundamental rights,” said Anick Smolyan.

 "The Turkish state legitimizes its crimes"

 Commenting on the Turkish state's attempts to legitimize its crimes, Samolian said, "If the PKK is on the 'terror list' today, the Turkish state can give many weapons to an organization in order to liquidate a people with a history spanning thousands of years and knows that it will not be punished. In  The decision of the People’s Court held in March 2018 and submitted to the European Union held Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as responsible for the war and state crimes in Eastern Anatolia.”

 Referring to the position of international and French organizations, she said, “The decision of the Council of Justice of the European Union made it clear that the PKK should not be included in the 'terrorist organizations' list, and this decision applies to all countries of the European Union. Today the French government does not implement this decision and continues to criminalize refugees.  Kurds and Kurdish associations in the name of 'anti-terror law'.

 "Europe is bargaining over the Kurdish people"

 She explained that France and EU countries use the Kurdish people as a tool and said, "The Kurdish people have always been victims of political expectations and economic and geostrategic interests in diplomatic bargaining with the Turkish state."

 She also indicated that the Turkish state is using its paper regarding refugees against Europe and said, "The international community has been suppressing Kurdish political, social and cultural rights for a long time. Although the Kurdish people have been searching for a democratic and peaceful solution for forty years, they are being betrayed. All countries that signed the Treaty of Sèvres are responsible for this situation."

 She said that the Turkish state does not abandon its expansionist policies in the Middle East, and stated that the PKK is struggling against Iraq, Iran and Syria, and continued, "The PKK is the only party in terms of peace and problem-solving against tyrannical and dark regimes."

 She added that the Kurdish people are not only defending the region;  But at the same time defending the security of peoples, democratic life and basic freedoms.

 “The Kurdish issue will not be resolved without the PKK”

She stated that the Kurdish issue will not be resolved without the PKK and said, “With this shameful war against the PKK, the solution is not possible. In his message in Newroz 2013, Mr. Ocalan demonstrated the will for a democratic and peaceful solution once again. The PKK did not oppose the dialogue seeking a solution  One day, within the framework of the Geneva Agreement, France and the European Union countries see the resistance of the Kurdish people as terrorism and do not dare to sit at the solution table, and continue this unjust war with the saying 'It is not permissible to negotiate with terrorists'.

 Stressing that the time has come to remove the name of the PKK from the 'terror list', she said, "If the international community removes the name of the PKK from the 'terrorist organizations' list, then the Turkish state will be forced to solve the Kurdish issue by political and peaceful means and will bear the political responsibility for the genocide of the Kurds."  .

 "Western countries are hypocritical"

 “If the PKK is indeed a terrorist organization, how do you explain the coalition called the fight against ISIS that also includes France? Didn’t the French forces fight alongside the YPG and the PKK against ISIS? The European Court of Human Rights has condemned Turkey several times for not violating the  Basic human rights. Thousands of political prisoners are imprisoned by this hypocritical policy. This situation is used as a tool of pressure on the Kurds residing in France and Europe."

 "The Olof Palme affair is a political one"

 Pointing out that Olof Palme's case is a political one, Annick Smolyan said, "The United Nations should be more credible on the issue of human rights and crimes against humanity. International law should not change according to the demands of states. All state actors in the Geneva Convention should respect it. Those parties have to  To pressure Turkey to implement the requirements of international law.

 Annik Smolyan concluded her assessment with these words, "As announced in the campaign to remove the PKK from the 'terrorist organizations list', the resistance of the Kurdish people concerns us all. We owe it to them and the name of the PKK must be removed from the 'terror list' so that the Kurdish people can live in peace."
