Muhammad calls on Kurdish forces to take urgent action against Turkish occupation's chemical attacks

On September 29, the People's Defense Center explained that the Turkish army has been using, for 15 days, new types of chemical bombs in particular, and said: "It is clear that this new chemical bomb has been introduced by one of the United States, the European Union and other NATO members. The forces that remain silent and strengthen the fascist AKP regime, are accomplices in this crime against humanity in Kurdistan today.”

The co-chair of the Kurdistan Democratic Peace Party, Talal Muhammad, in a statement to our agency, explained that the Turkish occupation army's attacks on the areas of Başûr Kurdistan since the 23rd of April, has not made any progress, as a result of the heroic resistance shown by the fighters of the Peoples' Defense Forces, the HPG.

Muhammad confirmed that the HPG's fighters were able to obstruct the progress of the Turkish occupation forces in the depths of Başûr Kurdistan, and said: "This continuous resistance is like a wall, impeding the progress of the Turkish occupation army, which has recently started using internationally banned chemical weapons against the guerrilla fighters. "

Chemical weapons are internationally prohibited and permitted against the Kurds

He noted that the main reason for the Turkish occupation state's use of internationally prohibited weapons is to break the will of the fighters of the HPG, and said: "The use of chemical weapons is an international crime, and it is prohibited by international norms and covenants; there are international charters and resolutions in However, the international community remains silent while using it against the Kurds.

He stressed that the silence of the international community means complicity in the crime. If anything, it indicates the existence of partnership between the Turkish occupation state on the one hand, and the international community and NATO on the other."

Muhammad pointed out that Kurdistan is divided between four countries, and the Kurds own a democratic project, and the capitalist and nationalist states believe that the democratic project in Kurdistan would pose a threat to their authority. Therefore, they remain silent about the Turkish attacks in Rojava and Başûr Kurdistan.  

Muhammad stressed that Turkey's AKP is based on the Ottoman culture aimed at exterminating peoples, led by the Kurdish people, and said: "Now Turkey is launching attacks in the neighboring countries, and the governments of these countries are silent, especially the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan regional government".

If the Kurdish people do not act, they will pay a heavy price

On the cooperation of some Kurdish forces with the Turkish occupation state, and in particular the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Talal Muhammad explained: "The KDP should be well aware that the Turkish occupation state is an enemy of the whole Kurdish people, and not a particular party. There is a great danger to the Kurdistan Region. Turkey is seeking to bite the Kurdistan region, and the whole Kurdish people will pay the price for that if they do not act.”

Talal Muhammad called on all Kurdish forces and parties, especially the Kurdistan Democratic Party, to put all its strength in the service of the Kurdish people, not the Turkish occupation state. Today, attacks are launched against the Kurdistan Workers' Party, and tomorrow they will be launched against the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and after that, the PUK. Everyone should be aware of this."

Talal Muhammad confirmed their response to the call of the Peoples' Defense Center, which was launched on September 29, and said: "All Kurdish and Kurdish forces and parties must respond to the call of the Peoples' Defense Forces, and work with all their energy to pressure the international community and international and humanitarian organizations, which remain silent to deter Turkish attacks."
