Zubair Idar: Defeat of AKP-MHP alliance to give breathing space to  peoples of ME

Efforts continue to ensure the physical freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan through the "Time for Freedom" campaign launched by the leadership body of the KCK on September 12, 2020. During the year the Kurdish people and their friends adopted the campaign. A great resistance emerged against the occupation attacks of the fascist power of the AKP-MHP alliance on Başûr Kurdistan and the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

A member of the leadership, Zubair, explained that the "Time for Freedom" campaign, which has entered its second year, continues in parallel with the continuing struggle of the Kurdish people.

Zubair indicated during an interview with Hawar News Agency that the occupying Turkish state intensified its attacks with the beginning of the campaign and stressed its importance at this stage in which the fate of the Kurdish people is being written. In the context of the "Time for Freedom" campaign, which has crossed its first year, major activities against fascism and isolation took place in many regions. How do you evaluate this year and the level of participation in it?

Despite the recent circumstances due to the pandemic, there are daily events taking place in Europe in the context of the campaign. Similar and large events took place in Rojava as well. It also organized protest events in Bakûr and Başûr Kurdistan.

On the 8th of March and Newroz, millions of people indicated their embrace of this campaign. On the other hand, the Turkish state intensified its pressure to break the will of the Kurdish people in Bakûr. And massacres were committed against our civil people. In the face of all these attacks, the people express their will on the side of the Kurdish liberation movement. The people also continue their struggle against the occupation attacks targeting the Rojava revolution once again and defend their will.

Undoubtedly, those who understood the campaign best and received it solemnly were the Guerilla Forces. Guerilla's resistance against the occupation attacks on Heftanin spread throughout Kurdistan. The occupying Turkish army has been attacking Metina, Zab and Avaşîn since April 23, and the resistance in those areas continues. The message that the guerrillas of Zindora sent to the Kurdish people paved the way for them to follow. The people of Kurdistan derive their will from that resistance.

The AKP and MHP fascist attacks escalated everywhere after the "Time for Freedom" campaign. We are witnessing very great resistance against the attacks on the legitimate defense zones. What was the guerrilla role in this campaign?

Today the guerrillas are leading a majestic resistance against the fascist and occupying Turkish state and NATO technologies. They sent a message of genocide to the Kurdish people. But they were shocked by the resistance of the Kurdish people youth. The fascist and occupying Turkish state aimed to enter Qandil within 3 months. But they failed. the Kurdish people's sons resisted. Dozens of unsung heroes have made their bodies a shield for their people and demonstrated that the genocide desired by the Turkish state cannot be achieved. Despite their limited capabilities, guerrillas have resisted against the most severe technology. This is our main fault. The escalating resistance gave the Kurdish people great morale and terrified the Kurdish people's enemies. They were unable to advance in the face of the resistance, so the Turkish state began to die politically. The fascist Turkish state suppressed all opposition with its attacks. The only force that is resisting against the oppression of the fascist Turkish state is the Kurdistan Liberation Movement and its friends.

The people have united and the guerrilla struggle around the philosophy of the leader Apo and will be victorious. We must read the phase well. This movement began in 1984 and continues without interruption. If we say "it's time to be free" we have to act accordingly. We will meet the requirements of this campaign and fight like this.

Given the level of response of the democratic forces, do you think that participation in this stage and the joint struggle of the Kurdish people was sufficient?

The Kurdish people and freedom forces have united around the philosophy of the leader Apo and have shown themselves in the Middle East and elsewhere. This movement showed itself in the democratic forces. In terms of alliances and joint marches with democratic forces, we did not reach the required level. Concrete activities are organized in this context. The methods of struggle that were previously practiced in the Middle East cannot be a solution to the crisis. New alliances must be formed within this framework. Some movements in the Middle East struggle only for their own family interests. One of our most important tasks and responsibilities is to meet with the forces of democracy in the context of the campaign.

Concrete steps have been taken in Turkey and Bakûr Kurdistan on HDK and HDP and alliances have been formed according to the perspective of revolutionary movements. But despite this, there is a shortage of the required level. For the emergence of a great democratic movement we must be more persistent and striving. If we can put together a great coalition for democracy, we can defeat fascism as well.

 One of the main objectives of the campaign is to spread the struggle among all the Kurdish people within the framework of Kurdish national unity. The Kurdish liberation movement called on the Kurdish forces and said, "Intensify the struggle against the fascist mentality in the spirit of national unity." But some forces such as the Kurdistan Democratic Party continued their cooperation with the Turkish state. How should this be viewed and who does it serve?

We are also working within the framework of the campaign to ensure national unity. Meetings are held with many Kurdish parties and movements. But we cannot say that we have reached a conclusion in our discussions.

I can say that the spirit of national unity arose among the Kurdish people. But I cannot say that the same thing exists between the parties. The Kurdistan Democratic Party cooperates with the enemy and considers its family interests above the Kurdish people. This harms Kurdish national unity and serves the enemy as well.

Everyone knows that the fascist Turkish state is an enemy. The attacks are carried out in the four parts of Kurdistan. Rojava attacks. Yet the KDP still unabashedly says that they remain the closest friends of the Turkish state and Erdogan. The KDP's stance is unacceptable. In the last attack launched by the Turkish state on Metina, Zab and Avashin. The KDP special forces rescued the occupiers every time the Turkish state was in a critical situation. The guerillas who were resisting at the summit of Zindora sent a message on 2 June saying that the enemy could not advance. And that the guerrilla group of 6, was able to force the enemy to withdraw. But they sent KDP forces into the region against this guerrilla force. After that the guerrilla lost contact with each other. Guerilla forces were martyred on 16 June. The KDP has shown once again that it works with the enemies of the Kurdish people. The Kurdish people will never accept this situation.

There is a crisis within the PUK. We are very disturbed by this crisis. This crisis will harm the PUK and the Kurdish people as well. We hope that this crisis will end. Despite this, work will continue within the framework of national unity. The Kurdish people will identify those who collude with the enemy against the Kurdish people. In this context, our people will show their opposition to subordination.

The Kurds have put the development of self-protection on the agenda of the second year of the campaign, what can be done to develop self-protection?

Self-protection is very important in the context of the "Time for Freedom" campaign. The Kurdish people must develop their defense in every possible way.  It is a struggle not only from a material point of view, but also against all forms of extermination, denial, erasure and cultural extermination. The Kurds need self-protection the most.

The fascist Turkish state is attacking to eliminate our self-protection. In the face of this we must strengthen it everywhere. The heroic men and women of the Kurdish people must join forces for self-defense. Self-protection is our first task at this stage to protect our culture. As part of the "Time for Freedom" campaign, we will focus more on self-protection in the future.

The plot enters its twenty-third anniversary. To eliminate this conspiracy and achieve the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, what  tasks fall on everyone?

The fascist Turkish state continues its attacks on the leaders of the Kurdish people. In this context, on October 9, 1998, the Turkish state targeted our leader with an international conspiracy. The plot has been going on for 23 years.  we will work everywhere to achieve the physical freedom of Leader Apo. On the twenty-third anniversary of the October 9 conspiracy, our people must actively join the stage everywhere. On October 2, the people of Europe will take to the streets. We will continue our struggle to achieve the physical freedom of Commander Apo.

Leader Apo is not just a leader of a movement, but a leader for all peoples who accept it as the will. For the physical freedom of Apo and the resistance he has shown for 23 years, we must escalate the struggle everywhere. This is a humanitarian and political responsibility of the Kurdish people.

When the goals of this campaign are achieved, how will it affect peace in the Middle East and World War III?

Our first goal as a Kurdish people is to defeat the alliance of the Justice and Development Party, the Nationalist Movement Party and Ergenekon. Eliminating this fascist mentality will allow all the peoples of the Middle East to breathe. This means ending the attacks on the four parts of Kurdistan. The collapse of the fascist mentality will open the way for the democratic struggle. In this context, it is not only required to eliminate the fascist regime of the Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party, but also to eliminate the fascist regimes in other countries. This campaign will lay a strong foundation for democratization in the region.

I call women and men and youth and say; The attacks of the fascist Turkish state continue on us, so the young Kurdish people must join the Self-Defense Forces and defend their land. All values ​​and gains of the revolution must be protected. Everyone must do their duty. Our people everywhere must participate in the "Time for Freedom" campaign and take their place in the movement to ensure the physical freedom of Leader Apo. They can also invite democratic forces to solve the problems and crises in the four parts of Kurdistan and play an active role in dialogue with the Kurdish liberation movement. The Kurdish people and their friends should embrace the campaign and interact more actively against the occupation attacks.
