Bayik: Peoples of NE Syria will resist Turkish state

During an exclusive interview on Stêrk TV, the co-chair of the KCK, Cemil Bayik, gave valuable assessments regarding the current situation and setting the agenda for the next stage.

He praised the resistance of NE Syria in the face of the occupying Turkish state. and also spoke about the complicity of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the PDK with the Turkish occupation and about Şengal, the Iraqi elections and the Turkish interior, during the lengthy dialogue.

The following is the full text of the interview, translated by the Euphrates News Agency:

* What do you say about the international conspiracy and the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the continuous struggle of the Kurdish people and their friends against this isolation?

At the outset, I denounce the international conspiracy, our movement and our leader on October 9, and on this occasion I remember with appreciation and respect the martyrs of the conspiracy phase, including Dr. Sirwan on October 4 in Başûr (Southern Kurdistan), and on October 6 our leading comrade Rohat in Ayala Kojkari, and on October 6-8 from the same month in the Kobani uprising in Bakur (Northern Kurdistan), many of our people were martyred, and on October 9, Sheikh Mahmoud Barzanji and our comrades Cicek Botan, Rustam Judi and Ali Sher Kojkari, on October 10 and on October 11, Hussein Chalabi, Damhat and Jamil were martyred in 15 of him in Sulaymaniyah, in the person of these martyrs, he remembered all the martyrs of Kurdistan.

leader Ocalan in Imrali has been resisting the conspiracy historically for 23 years. The history of mankind has been full of conspiracies, but it was not like the one that was exposed to Ocalan, because no one stood against the conspiracy as the leader responded to the conspirators with a strong response, giving a great service to humanity, and this is the reason for the world’s solidarity with Leader Ocalan, today there is a struggle against the conspiracy in all fields with some shortcomings, because the leader’s stance against the conspiracy was not properly understood, and therefore the desired outcomes were not achieved.

The leader's philosophy is becoming a hope all over the world day by day, and the solidarity with the leader is increasing, what does that mean...? If we fight properly and make the leader's physical freedom our goal, then we can free the leader physically.

* After a year on the "Time for Freedom" campaign, what did this campaign achieve...?

This campaign is not for a short period, we started this campaign on September 12 against the fascist government, how we started a great struggle against this fascism before, we wanted to struggle against it with such a great campaign now, for the Kurdish people and also for the Turkish people and humanity all in all, this campaign has greatly affected women and youth, and the occupiers, in order to fail this campaign, they resorted to all methods, one of which is the continuous attacks on the forces of guerrillas, socialists and democrats, not only in Turkey, but also abroad, but the Kurdish people, the democratic forces, led by women and youth, stood in the face of these attacks through the “Time for Freedom” campaign. In order to undermine the courage of this people, the enemy increased its attacks, but the campaign gave courage to all, to the Kurdish people and the peoples of Turkey against fascism and created spirit of struggle. When Deniz Poyraz was assassinated, peoples of Turkey showed a stand against the fascist authority; they organized rallies and made statements, and the prison resistance joined the campaign. On this occasion I salute all the comrades in In the prisons who played their role, as our people in Rojava showed solidarity with the leader Ocalan against the Turkish occupation state because they realized that unless the Turkish state was defeated, the Kurdish people would not be able to breathe a sigh of relief. Our people in Southern Kurdistan also rose up against the Turkish occupation, but the government of Southern Kurdistan stood in his face to prevent him from standing against the Turkish government. The government of Southern Kurdistan did not take the interest of the Kurdish people as its basis, but our people in Southern Kurdistan showed a great position against the occupation. Our people in Makhmour also supported the campaign, and on this occasion, I salute and bless our people in Makhmour, as our people in Shingal joined the campaign, and in turn resisted in various forms, and I also salute them for that. Our people in Eastern Kurdistan, because of pressure and repression, could not participate in this campaign, but supported the campaign with their heart and soul. Our people in Europe also performed their duty, and constantly in solidarity with the movement and the leader. In Europe, national unity has been achieved. Our people in Lavrio also participated in the campaign. I salute them for that.

Especially the guerrilla forces participated in the campaign. The Turkish state started occupational attacks on Gari, but it was defeated and pillars of the fascism of the Justice and Development Party and the National Movement were shaken. The struggle of the people and guerrilla achieved these results.

With this campaign, we showed that the fascist regime does not threaten Northern Kurdistan only, but all parts of Kurdistan and all the peoples of the Middle East. To the point that it is on the verge of collapse, and if their government had not been broken, the opposition would not have been able to stand in its way. Everyone in Turkey owes this campaign. Sometimes this government resorts to America and Russia in order not to collapse, this is how it is.

* We have entered the second year of the campaign, and you have shown your goals. What are these goals?

The Justice and Development Party’s policy has gone bankrupt. In the second year, our goal is to eliminate this government and everyone must build on this accordingly; we strive to achieve our goals completely. Basically, this government will be completely eliminated.

* Now there is talk about the post-Erdogan stage, especially by Republican People's Party about solving the Kurdish issue. In your opinion, what is the reason for this CHP's move?

Some say that the Republican People's Party is talking about the Kurdish issue because of the approaching elections, it could be so, but the issue is not only this, because we failed the AKP policy through the campaign, they were saying, "We will eliminate the PKK and the Kurdish people, this will not remain the problem, we will solve it soon.” Therefore, it requested support from other parties, and some of them responded to this call secretly, others openly, and they believed that the Justice and Development Party would be able to eliminate the PKK and solve the Kurdish issue, but they saw that this is not the case. They were failed.

They saw that the Kurdish issue had grown more, pushing the CHP to put it on the agenda again. If we had not defeated the policies of this regime, the CHP would not have dared to take this move. The CHP has not talked about the Kurdish issue before now? Is the Kurdish issue a product of the moment? No. From here I say, whoever wants to solve the Kurdish issue in Turkey, we will support him.

Discussions about “who is the interlocutor” are wrong

Recently, there are discussions in Turkey about the fact that the interlocutor is the leader Ocalan. Such discussions do not make sense for the Kurdish people. What some have said now, the leader Ocalan said years ago that the place to solve the Kurdish issue is the Council and the interlocutor is the Peoples’ Democratic Party, where the leader met with the People’s Democratic Party. The Peoples’ Democratic Party was sent to the Justice and Development Party, and said: “Speak with all parties, put the Kurdish issue on the council’s agenda, so that the council will form a committee and I will also speak with the committee.” He says the place of the solution is the Council and the interlocutor is the Peoples’ Democratic Party, is the leader Ocalan , showed how it is done.

Why did the leader refer to the council for everyone and form a committee, and everything is legal? Because the AKP did not have a policy to solve the Kurdish issue, and was using it as a means. The leader Ocalan understood that the AKP's goal is to win the elections to remain in power. For this, it indicated that the solution to the issue must be official, legal, and so that no one trades with it, It must be resolved through the Council and a committee.

* The Medya Zones have been witnessing fierce fighting for nearly six months and the Turkish state used chemical weapons 157 times in front of the eyes of the whole world, in return there is a legendary resistance by the Guerilla forces, what is your assessment of the situation?

There is a historical resistance. Throughout the history, Kurdish people have not witnessed such resistance. The fascist Turkish state claimed that it would occupy all places within 15 days, and on this basis, it threatened everyone, but what happened? It was only able to be stationed in some hills, however, it could not move on those hills either, so it is still in the place from which its attacks began, and it has not moved a single step forward, its target was not only Zab, Metîna and Avaşîn, but all the areas of guerrilla and the liquidation of guerrilla, and the guerrilla revealed once again, the true face of the Turkish state, and its strategy in the Middle East has failed. What was its strategy? Occupying all of Kurdistan and eliminating guerrillas and completing the policies of extermination and then controlling the entire Middle East, but the guerrilla fighters with their guerrilla resistance thwarted this strategy, and gave courage and strength to everyone to stand up to the Turkish state.

The Guerilla forces resistance proved that strikes can be directed at the Turkish state and this is very important, after the Turkish state could not achieve results, it demanded the Kurdistan Democratic Party to support it, but it was not satisfied with that and used chemical weapons; during a month, it used it 157 times , where many of our comrades were martyred in its wake, despite that, they failed. The Kurdish youth wrote heroic epics not only for the Kurdish people, but for the sake of humanity in general. No matter what the Justice and Development Party and its ally the Kurdistan Democratic Party do, guerrillas will win the struggle. Their government may increase its attacks and pressures, but it will not prevent its collapse. These attacks will bring its end to their government.

* In the last two months, the KDP has shown its hostility; set some guerrilla fighters in ambushes. Some guerrilla fighters were martyred, injured and captured as a result of these ambushes. This party supports the Turkish occupation state at the highest level. How do you evaluate this cooperation?

The KDP shows the extent of the support to the Turkish state, and in what way it stands in the face of the guerrillas. This is what the Turkish state wants. Our people demand this party to reveal the results of these ambushes. Did they cause the comrades to be martyred, injured or their families? They are waiting to answer these questions, but this party has not issued any statements so far. It seeks to please the Turkish state, and for this reason it does not reveal the results of these ambushes. Our people reject this situation, and it must grow stronger.

The Turkish state uses chemical weapons, but NATO and America are silent about it. These forces show their refusal to use chemical weapons against some people and some forces, but when Turkey uses them, it remains silent. Our people must demand accountability for that. 

Political assassinations have increased in recent days, and recently, Shukri Sarhad, was assassinated, so what is the message they send to the Kurdish people and the freedom movement...?

Since history, the enemy of the Kurdish people has always tried to exaggerate the matter. When there are some internal problems within the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. The enemy wants weaken it and the Kurdish people. Therefore, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and our people, especially our people of Sulaymaniyah, must not allow them to pass. Most of artists, intellectuals, writers and conscious people are insisting on democracy and freedom. This is a distinctive feature of our people.

These crimes are taking place at a time of the elections in Iraq, that are not like before, and the enemy is seeking through these assassinations to sow division in its PUK's ranks. The PUK's members orientations, must work to win it in these elections. This is our position, and the issue should not be viewed narrowly.

The Turkish state is preparing the Turkmens to occupy the whole of Southern Kurdistan

The assassinations in Sulaymaniyah do not target the cadres of the PKK only, but the whole Kurdish people. The Turkish state is hostile to the whole Kurdish people. All the squares in which the Kurds are present, as well as the legitimate defense areas, Rojava and Shingal, for the same reason they attack Sulaymaniyah, attack the will of the Kurdish people.

It seeks to intimidate and subjugate everyone. When the Turkish state has the opportunity and the appropriate ground, will occupy the entirety of Southern Kurdistan. For this reason it prepares Turkmens to create chaos in Southern Kurdistan, under the pretext of “we will protect the Turkmens there.” It is trying to occupy the whole of southern Kurdistan. Our people in southern Kurdistan should realize and see that, if they do not stand up today against the attacks of the Turkish state today, it may be too late tomorrow.

The Turkish occupation continues its attacks on Rojava. In addition, Erdogan said at the United Nations several days ago, “We have settled 450,000 Syrian refugees in north and east Syria,” and continued his threats against Rojava, the AKP-MHP regime after being defeated in the country, what does it intend to do in Rojava...?

Our people in Rojava know the leader Ocalan who did not give up his position for democracy and freedom. He made a progress in Rojava and women played an important role in it. This revolution greatly affected the struggle for democracy and freedom in the whole world and became hope for its people, that is why people from all over the world joined it. The Rojava revolution created a spirit of resistance not only in the hearts of the Kurdish people, but in the souls of all the peoples of north and east Syria and achieved coexistence among its peoples.

Fascist President Erdogan said: “We have settled 450,000 Syrian refugees there, and there are still millions. We cannot bear all of them. We want to settle them in different places.” I mean, he wants to occupy other areas in NE Syria. Everyone is silent about this, meaning “I will commit massacres.” Against the Kurdish people, support me.” Silence about it means you can do that. How is our Kurdish people resisting the Turkish state until now, from now on they will resist it in all forms, they have to make preparations against the occupation attacks, I am confident that the peoples Of NE Syria will resist the state Turkish, because they tasted democracy, freedom and brotherhood. Therefore, they will prevent the enemy from moving easily.

The anniversary of the Kobane Uprising is approaching, during this period, many of our patriots were martyred in the attacks of the Turkish state. The HDP is being tried as a result of the Kobani case, as well as with the cooperation of ISIS and the Justice and Development Party. More than five hundred others, how do you evaluate the results of these accidents...?

The Kobani resistance is historical; it defeated ISIS there. Erdogan was saying that ISIS will occupy the city of Kobani, and eliminate the Rojava revolution starting from Afrin, but what happened...? Erdogan’s plans failed. The four parts of Kurdistan supported the resistance of Kobani, especially Northern Kurdistan. If it had not risen on October 6-8 against ISIS mercenaries, Kobani would not have been able to win, so let the people of Rojava know that all, as the revolutionaries headed from all over the world to join the Kobani resistance, thanks to that, the international arena moved for Kobani after Vietnam, thus Kobani won, and otherwise, it would not have been able to win alone. There is a country that supported the Rojava revolution. It is possible that some countries have supported it tactically for the sake of their interests, but the people who protect and continue the revolution are the people.

Those who made sacrifices on October 6-8 for Kobani, who were they...? The Kurdish people, who gathered under the umbrella of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, some of them had nothing to do with the Peoples’ Democratic Party, some Turkish fascists say, that the HDP is the reason, is not true, they want revenge against those who are now being tried in the Kobani case, because Erdogan was Many games have been played on Kobani and it has not worked. He wants revenge now, and this is correct. The ones who should be tried now are the Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party, not the Kurds. Those who were killed in the Kobani uprising were mostly Kurds, and all of them were killed by Turkish soldiers and the Turkish police. The soldiers and police who took orders, certainly from the Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party, and therefore those who should be tried are those who should be prosecuted.

Now they are trying to take revenge on the Kurds and those who demand freedom and democracy and everyone who stands in the face of the Justice and Development Party and therefore carried out massacres, and these massacres were carried out by the Justice and Development Party, Turkish intelligence and ISIS mercenaries, as ISIS mercenaries had within its ranks members of the Turkish intelligence, this could be The massacres took place in the name of ISIS, but the Justice and Development Party government carried out them. With these massacres, it sought to frighten everyone and perpetuate its authority. The massacre of the Ankara station was the largest of its kind in the history of Turkey, and until now it has not been revealed how this massacre happened, because they are behind this massacre, no They want to reveal its truth. After this massacre, it frightened everyone and obstructed the opposition’s work in the elections. Only the Justice and Development Party and the National Movement Party were doing the work of promoting the elections and achieving results, and they carried out this massacre to reap the results in the elections.

In order to prevent the alliance of the Kurdish people and the Turkish peoples, they carried out a massacre at the Ankara station, because the Justice and Development Party knew that this alliance would end and destroy it. If a joint struggle was carried out against this fascist authority, the results would be achieved. The testimony shows that, what does the martyrdom of these people mean? In the October 10 massacre at Ankara Station...? Deniz Kazmish, Mahir Jayan, Ibrahim Kaybak Kaya, because they demanded a democratic Turkey, and an independent Kurdistan, so we have to take this line as our basis, the 10 martyrs should be our argument for walking this line, if in this way, it is possible to eliminate this fascist power.
