Children Protection Office in Armed Conflict in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria launched a training course for its members on the protection of children in armed conflict and has developed a mechanism for solving these problems.

On Sunday, Office of Child Protection and Armed Conflict met in the Deirk district of Qamishlo canton to launch a training course that will discuss the situation and employment of children, especially in hot spots, and the need to provide care for children up to the age of 18.

Members of child protection offices of NE, Syria attended the meeting closed to the media.


Head of the Office of Child Protection in Deir ez-Zour, Mohammed Shehada, stated to ANHA's agency that "the aim of this training course is to protect children in situations of armed conflict, for which everyone has a responsibility to protect them from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination."

On our question about the duration of the course, Shehada said that it would span four days.


In his turn, Office Director of Child Protection in Qamishlo, Mar'i Mohammed, stated that "there are 9 child rights protection offices of NE,Syria participating in this session, through which the objectives of these offices will be clarified, as well as the discussion of child labor in the industrial and agricultural sector and the need for them to return to school."

Mar'i noted that the participants have discussed the problems and defies that faced by children, how it can be solved, all the obstacles they face by making connection with their parents and concerned parties legally, adding," the international Orgs did not provide any aids till the moment or coordinated with them to support child protection offices. "

The training course is scheduled to be continued until Wednesday, to develop solutions to children's problems.
