AANES commemorates the victims of Shiatat massacre 

This came during statement issued by AANES on the occasion of 7^th anniversary of Shaitat massacre that committed by IS/ Daesh against them, resulted in the killing more than 700 people of Shaitat.

The text of the statement reads: "The terrorist organization IS/Daesh and all terrorist factions from Jabhet al-Nusra and others have contributed to the annihilation of Syrians on their various affiliations; From the massacre of Tel Hasel and Tell Arn to Shaitat massacre against its people, those who fought against IS/Daesh and its practices, to the massacres of our people in Afrin, Ras Al-Ain and Tal Abyed, and what happened in Shengal, the terrorist massacres have the same goal, so the pain gathered the Arab, Kurds and Christians alike.

August marks the 7^th anniversary of Shaitat massacre; this massacre resulted in the killing more than 700 persons, most of them are children, the people in the clan still suffer from its effects; what happened in Baguz town on March 23^rd, 2019, about what was declared of ending IS/Daesh militarily is an achievement for all components and a major revenge for all those who have suffered from IS/Daesh crimes.

Recalling the pain of Shaitat massacre, we have mercy on the lives of the victims who were killed by ISIS. We stress that the great victory that took place over ISIS was thanks to solidarity and unity among the various components of our region, and today we need to join hands together in order to confront the schemes against us.

We call on the various components of our people to act in unity of position, struggle and action to preserve the gains that have been made by the blood of our children from the Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians and others. In AANES, we affirm that we must move towards the defence of our people and that no one should be allowed to compromise their achievements and continue to struggle for the liberation of our occupied territories and the return of our people to those areas with dignity and honor.

In order to fulfil all the martyrs of freedom, the victims of IS/Daesh and terrorism, we must continue to fight together to eliminate ISIS and to thwart it and thwart the plans of our regional supporters, Turkey in particular.

In conclusion, we call upon the human rights, legal and international institutions and the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS to fulfil their responsibilities and to consider what has happened to our people as an integral massacre and to cooperate with the AANES in order to preserve the security and stability of the region and prevent the return of IS/Daesh in any way in order to preserve the lives of the people and prevent any danger to our region, Syria and the world as a whole. "
