ISIS families and mercenaries add more burden on AANES

All calls made by the AANES are ignored by the international community as well counties to origin of the ISIS families.

After the al-Hol was liberated from ISIS in 2015 the camp that was set up to home Iraqi refugees began to receive ISIS families of both foreigners and Iraqis as well as Syrian ones.

According to latest statistics, 60351 people are in the camp making up 16404 families distributed as: 8555 children and women composed of 2529 in addition to 8256 Iraqi families making in all 30738 persons while Syrians are 21058 of 5616 families. 

In a comprehensive report by the Wall Street Journal the paper explained how ISIS mercenaries are trying to revive again by controlling the camp and money making schemes and transferring its leaders to Idlib the matter that turned the camp into a very dangerous school for extremism,

In June the last 8 people both of Iraqi and Syrian nationalities were killed in the head in the  camp via silencers, according to the Syrian Democratic Forces, the SDF.

In the monthly report by the SDF it was stated that the organization was still active and spreads radical ideology inside the camp as those oppose the idea are murdered.

On inaction by the international community to assume responsibility Sheikhmous Ahmed head of the Refugees and IDPs Issues Office in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria says that '' there are many reasons behind inaction by the countries to calls made by the AANES of which relevant to politics and others to security besides regional powers exerted by some countries that reject to repatriate its subjects''.

Ahmed explained that the political solution in Syria plays a role in repatriation of ISIS families to the countries, in addition to the status of AANES and the issue of an international recognition to set up courts to prosecute ISIS foreigners present in Syria''.

Ahmed noted that mass pressure is being played by regional powers more notably Turkey as well Russia and Syrian government to deter countries from repatriating their subjects.  

Time and again the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria made calls and presented proposal for repatriation of ISIS elements to countries of origin but with no response.

''talks are made between officials in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and all delegations that pay visits to NES on the issue but these have not put into action'', adding that the delegations are just concerned to file reports of the situation o ISIS families and elements in jails''.

Ahmed went on to say that number of ISIS families that live in camps in North eastern Syria is almost 9000 persons of which women and children in al-Hol Camp and around two others in Roj Camp in addition to tens of thousands of mercenaries held at prisons adding that those make an additional burden to the AANES socially and economically, '' the AANES and Global Coalition to Defat ISIS subside and protect these families but most part is played by the AANES''.

As for the Russo-Chinese veto that closed the Tal Kocher Border Crossing by a UN Security Council resolution, Ahmed said that the matter aggravates the issue more for humanitarian aids are only allowed into Syrian via Bab al-Hawa that is controlled by factions affiliated to Turkey to which NES has no part in these aids, ''the AANES and other organizations provide  some humanitarian aids but they are not sufficient''.
