Shengal Resistance Units, founded a day after the 73rd Firman, took it upon themselves to protect Shengal and liberate it from ISIS to be an Yazidi force to take its duties to take revenage for the last Firman martyrs, for the liberation of those abducted by ISIS, and for the Women's Protection Units - Shengal, for resistance and struggle against all schemes targeting Yazidi community.

Fighters from the Shengal resistance said that their units had been formed by Shengal people, thanks to their sacrifices, and noted that the intrigues and agreements against the Yazidi had not ended after the end of the massacre but were continuing "so that we can repel these schemes and attacks on us together and defend and protect the Shengal people."

In this regard, the fighter in the rank of Shengal Resistance Units, Shervan Shengali, noted that the withdrawal of the Kurdistan Democrat from Shankal province during the attack by ISIS mercenaries caused the massacre: "We were deceived by the forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK), who were deluded as the garrison forces of the Shengal province, and the truth emerged as they fled from Shengal as ISIS mercenaries entered."

Shervan Shengali noted that the People's Defence Forces, HPG, belongs to Kurdistan Worker's Party, PKK, despite their simple capabilities, refused to leave the sons of Shengal alone to face ISIS attacks and defended it with its sons and liberated it, and said: "We will remain owe to their sacrifices."

In conjunction with the entry of ISIS mercenaries into Shengal province in 2014, forces belonging to the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Iraqi army withdrew from it, and the People's Defence Forces, HPG assumed responsibility for defending and protecting Shengal.

YBŞ and YJŞ is the protective powers of Shengal
Shengali explained that the Shengal Resistance Units were formed by the strength of their children, thanks to the sacrifices of the many vanguard martyrs who fought in the yards and made themselves an inescapable dam in the face of the massacre, and that they went beyond many difficult stages in which they were able to protect and defend Shengal.

Shengali stressed the need for the Yazidi people to be aware of the reality of the plots that are being planned against them, seeking to break up and weaken Yazidi society so that they could assert their control and influence over the Shankal province and achieve their objectives: " Yazidi community must join together to deter these plots, prevent the recurrence of massacres, and return to their land to build a secure Shengal because the distance from land, culture, nationalism, language and religion weakens society."

While the female fighter in the ranks of the Women's Protection Units - Shengal, Deniz Zardasht described the massacre of 2014 as the black day, and said: "ISIS committed the most heinous violations against the Shengal people, especially the Yazidi woman, who was subjected to violations against humanity." She continued, "We joined the ranks of the Women's Protection Units - Shengal, so that we can liberate the Yazidi women who are still kidnapped by ISIS.”

Deniz Zardasht indicated that thanks to the resistance and struggle of the Shengal Resistance Units, the Women's Protection Units - Shengal and the Guerilla Forces, the Shengal province was liberated from the hands of ISIS mercenaries, and she stressed: "We will not forget the support the Guerilla Forces, and we will remain owe to them."

Deniz noted, "If we had followed the thought and philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan prior to the 2014 massacre, this genocide would not have been committed against us, and if I had been trained at that time like I am now, my parents would not have been captured by ISIS."

In his turn, the fighter within the ranks of the Shengal Resistance Units, Delshir Fekir, indicated that during the massacre they were not trained to confront ISIS, and that the force that was claiming to protect the Shengal province did not do its duty, and said: "The Iraqi army and the Kurdistan Democratic Party followed the line of treason and withdrew as soon as ISIS entered to Shengal province, but now the situation is different, we can respond to the barbarism of the enemy thanks to the thought and philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the sacrifices of our martyrs."

Delshir explained that they were able to form special forces to protect the Shengal province following the crimes committed by ISIS against the Shengal children from looting, killing, destruction and families, and stressed "What is required of us at this time is to devote all our energy to the service of the children of Shengal and to organize ourselves further so that we can deter the enemy, stand up to its plans and form their own forces to protect the Shengal province."

Revenge for the Yazidi woman

For her part, the fighter in the ranks of the Shengal-Women Protection Units, Tolhildan Helmet, said, "The screams of bereaved children and mothers are still stuck in our ears, as it was a horrific massacre that killed thousands of Yazidis, and as a result, hundreds of Yazidi women were kidnapped by ISIS mercenaries." She pointed out that the 2014 massacre had awakened the Yazidi people from their negligence to establish by themselves a force of their own in order to protect their land and people.

Tolhidan highlighted the role played by the Yazidi woman in protecting Shengal, and said: "The Yazidi women played an important pioneering role in supporting and protecting their people, following the pain they experienced and saw during the ISIS attack, and the formation of a special force for women in Shengal, a source of pride for us and the development of strength within us." "The decision to join the ranks of the Shengal-Women Protection Units was taken in order to avenge the Yazidi woman."

Tolhildan noted that the anti-Yazidi conspiracies and agreements did not end after the massacre ended, but are still continuing, and stressed: "In order to be able to repel these plans and attacks, we must unite together and defend and protect the Shengal people."
