Sheikho: Turkey and its mercenaries try to bury facts

Spokesman for the Human Rights Organization- Afrin-Syria stressed that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries sought to change realities and to defend themselves against any crimes they committed, calling on regional and international human rights and humanitarian organizations to put at an end to these crimes.

In the last few days, a Turkish official agency and a number of social media pages belonging to Turkish occupation army mercenaries published what they alleged of the discovery of a mass grave in downtown Afrin, that contained bodies of civilians who had been killed by Turkish occupation and its mercenaries during the barbaric attacks on Afrin canton

Martyrs Families' Council of Afrin region has confirmed in statement on July 16th that the cemetery contains the bodies of their sons and daughters who had defended Afrin against the aggression, because they were unable to bury the martyrs in martyrs' shrines, due to the escalation of the barbaric bombardment, they were forced to bury them in the courtyard behind the Avrin Hospital.

Spokesman of the Human Rights Organization Afrin-Syria- Ibrahim Shiekho, asserted that Turkey's objective and its mercenary, through the exhuming of the cemetery, is to hide the traces of their crimes and accusing the People's Protection Units and Women's Protection Units YPG, YPJ in committing these crimes.

"During our follow-up, the concerned parties that are responsible for the burial of martyrs at the Avrin Hospital and the Kurdish Red Crescent Organization assured us that, as the barbaric bombardment of the centre of Afrin Canton intensified, they were forced to bury those who had been martyred during the massacres, including the Mamoudiyah massacre in the hospital's southern square, in two batches, the first 35 and the second 43."

He added:" Many massacres had been committed by Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against the shrines, such as, the shrine of Martyr Rafiq in the village of Metina in Shera and the shrine of Martyr Sido, located in the Qazqli mountains in Jinderis, are witnesses to the brutality of the occupation, which turned them into a cattle market and a military base for the occupation.

He concluded his speech, stressing that the cemetery contained the bodies of the sons and daughters of Afrin and called on all regional and international organizations, "whether human rights or legal rights, to act immediately and to stop crimes committed by Turkish occupation by violating the shrines."
