People of Sherawa denounce almost daily Turkish bombardment, Russian silence

In addition to the siege imposed by Russia and the Syrian government on the people of Afrin, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries bombard Al-Shahba canton and the villages of Sherawa district almost daily, with missiles and rockets, causing human and physical damage among civilians.

Yesterday, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries stationed in the occupied villages of Basiliya and Barad in Afrin canton targeted the villages of Sherawa district (Soghanka, Aqiba, Ziyara, and Ibeen) with more than 30 mortar and artillery shells. The damage was only material, unlike last Monday, when a drone belonging to the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries targeted the center of Tel Rifaat district, which hosts more than 15,000 displaced people from Afrin, with a shell, which resulted in the injury of five people, including a child, with serious injuries.

Regarding these crimes and the continuous bombardment by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, the citizen Younes Atash said in an interview with our agency: “Since our displacement to al-Shahba canton, the Turkish occupation army has committed several massacres against the displaced people of Afrin, including the massacre of children, which killed more than 8 martyrs in Tal Rifaat, and it also committed a massacre against a family last Monday by targeting the Tel Rifaat district with a shell, wounding 5 civilians, including a child.

Atash continued: "Yesterday, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries in the village of Basiliya and Barad targeted the villages of the district with more than 30 mortar and artillery shells, and fortunately none of the civilians was harmed."

At the conclusion of his speech, Atash stressed that the Turkish occupation seeks to sow fear among the people with the aim of displacing them again, and stressed that, as the people of Sherawa district, they will continue their resistance until the liberation of Afrin and the expulsion of the Turkish occupier from it.

As for the citizen, Hevin Ahmed, she said: "Both Russia and the Syrian government present in the area claim to protect the area and the people from attacks, but they turn a blind eye to the massacres, as a sign that they are satisfied with what is happening to our people."

At the end of her speech, Hevin Ahmed confirmed that, as the people of Afrin, they will continue their resistance until the liberation of Afrin.

For his part, citizen Nuri Muhammad stressed that the policy of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries aims to displace the people again and empty the area, and said: "These plans will fail, because we adhere to the option of resistance and the liberation of Afrin."
