Ocalan's lawyers apply for access

Lawyers Razia Ozturk, Faik Ozgur Erol, Rizan Sarıca and Cengiz Yürkli submitted a request to meet with their client to the Public Prosecution Office, which suspended the request, like all other requests submitted after August 7, 2019.

Since that date, the Turkish authorities have imposed strict isolation on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, who has been detained since 1999, and prevented him from meeting with family and lawyers.

The last meeting with the leader took place on the 7th of August 2019, while his last contact with the outside world was on the 25th of last March, during a phone call with his brother Muhammad Ocalan that lasted for 5 minutes, then the communication was cut off.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that the Turkish authorities have imposed strict isolation on Ocalan, as they previously imposed it for 8 years and ended with lawyers and family meetings with him in periods (2-22 May), (12-18 June) and (7 August) in 2019, to continue again by imposing strict isolation.
