PKK: Inspired by July 14th Resistance, we should proceed  

Commanding Committee of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party issued a statement on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the hunger strike resistance to death on July 14th, in which it said:  ''enemy is not different from that of 39 years ago, fascism of the Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party is the continuation of the fascist junta led by Kanaan Avren on the 12th of September 1980.

''Despite 40 years passing on the resistance of hunger strike to the death on the 14th of July, it is still a landmark, 39 years ago, the Kurdistan Liberation Movement and the Kurdish people followed the path of resistance of the 14th of July in the struggle for national dignity and attained victory after victory. Every step taken by the Kurdish people in the name of freedom owes to the influence of the resistance of the 14th of July, which will clearly increase in its 40th year and pave the way for great victories towards freedom.

On this basis, we hail the resistance of July 14th and its triumphant spirit, its great determination, its courage and its sacrifices, its mindset, its strong will, its loyalty to the people and the nation, and its lover concept of life by the spirit that created the resistance of July 14th and ensured its victory. We also bless the Day of National Dignity for the resistance to the 14th of July, firstly to Leader Ocalan and all comrades and for the national Kurdish people. In the spirit of the comrades Mohammed Khairy Durmuş, Kemal Pîr, Akif Yilmaz, Elî Çîçek, who have been most credited with dedicating these great and blessed days and showing us the path of freedom over the course of thirty-nine years. That is why we recall all the heroic martyrs with all due respect and appreciation. We affirm that we will step up resistance and struggle at all levels and in all respects to achieve and secure major victories.

Thirty-nine years ago, the PKK was on the road to resistance.

As is well known, the great resistance inside prisons in 1982, which defaeted the fascist military junta on September 12th in ideological terms, began with the self-sacrificing  operation carried out by Comrade Mazloum Dogan on Newroz Day, which was a cornerstone of the mindset of our liberal movement. This resistance was developed through the fourth historic operation led by Comrade Farhad Kurtai. After being announced by Comrade Mohammed Khairy Durmuş, the hunger strike begun till the death on the 14th of July and won, turning into a line of resistance that will not be eliminated under any circumstances and always triumphs. Having created, within the Kurdistan freedom revolution, the victorious spirit, and the way to overcome all kinds of difficulties, "It is our party's line at all levels," leader Ocalan said about July 14th July resistance.

It's clear that we've been on this path of resistance for 39 years, fighting and winning. The achievements made during the 39 years in the name of freedom in Kurdistan were the result of resistance to the hunger strike to death on the 14th of July. Our party's leadership organized itself on this basis against the fascist junta of September 12th. The revolutionary and historical Step of the 15th of August 1984 of the Guerilla Forces was based on this as well as uprisings of the people in 1990. The Feminist Movement, which is considered the most important liberation revolution in history, was led by Sarah to resist the major prisons. The style and awareness of the great struggle against the international conspiracy 23 years ago became clear through this resistance. The July 14th resistance always showed the way, gave strength and granted victory.

The current resistance must take the resistance 39 years ago as its basis.

The Movement for the Liberation of Kurdistan, the Kurdish People and the Democratic and Revolutionary Forces are standing up to attacks of special and all-out war against the fascism of the Justice and Development Parties and the Nationalist Movement Party, with the support of NATO and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, on the July 14th resistance approach. Fascism of the Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party is a continuation of the fascist junta of Kanaan Avren on 12 September 1980, and it is the civil face of this junta, via which it tried to eradicate the Kurdish people and undermine their will.

The resistance to the all-out revolutionary war of the people and the "It's Time for Freedom" campaign demanding the freedom of leader Ocalan, was launched by our movement and people, is based on the July 14th resistance line and the August 15th Step against the fascism (armed struggle), and is proceeding according to current conditions. There are many resistances in all prisons, represented by Imrali Prison, and the brave resistance by Guerilla Fighters and Protection Forces those who deal strong blows to the enemy on a daily basis.

Fighters, Protection Forces, the Feminist's Movement, the Youth, our people and our comrades in the four parts of Kurdistan and beyond will march on the path of resistance of the 14th of July, and will win, defeat fascism of the AKP and the Nationalist Movement Party. Neither the aggression of the Nationalist Movement Party nor the deception of the AKP, nor the support of NATO and PDK will be able to prevent their defeat, fascism of the AKP and the Nationalist Movement Party will collapse, Kurdistan will be liberated and Turkey will become a democracy.
