​​​​​​​Aisha Hesso: Abduction of our cadres in Southern Kurdistan is to obstruct Kurdish unity

The statements of Co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Aisha Hesso, came during an expanded meeting held by the party for a number of its members and advocators in Aleppo city in the meeting hall located in the western part of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood.

  Hesso indicated at the beginning of her speech that the adoption of the third line since the beginning of the Syrian crisis by their party and the Autonomous Administration came in accordance with the thought and philosophy of the leader Ocalan who repeatedly said that the third world war had begun on Syrian lands and on the basis of those recommendations they adopted the third line in politics and projects. "Our project was clear in this regard to everyone," she said.

The third line prevents us from turning it into a tool in the intervening countries' hands, unlike the opposition

Aisha Hesso described the third line policy as a line of truth, national belonging and community development, and continued, "This is why we did not acquiesce and did not become a tool in the hands of the countries interfering in Syrian affairs and which want to impose their agendas, policies and ambitions on Syrian territory."

She said that they did not support any party in the current conflict, unlike the so-called opposition which has publicly gone bankrupt, has nothing left to bargain over and is not even able to compensate for the damage it has inflicted on the Syrian people.

Aisha added, "The reason for our steadfastness on the ground and our resistance to the current challenges, and the transformation of the Autonomous Administration into the key to a solution to the Syrian crisis and the Middle East in general came with the implementation of the democratic nation project and the adoption of the third line."

She emphasized that they are working for the interest of the Syrian citizen and homeland and to resolve outstanding and intertwined issues such as the Kurdish issue, "the principles laid down in the democratic nation project serve all segments of Syrian society."

We are open to dialogue with everyone

As for their party’s policy concerning dialogue with parties, Aisha said, "We are open to constructive dialogue with the Syrian government in order to resolve the crisis, and more precisely, we can say that we are open to constructive dialogue with all parties because the current situation has stagnated, the Syrian regime is opinionated, insisting to restore the situation to pre-2011, which is a wrong vision for creating a permanent solution to the Syrian crisis."

ISIS did not appear out of the blue and Erdogan did not abandon his Ottoman dreams

Aisha also referred to the approaching expiry of the Treaty of Lausanne in 2023, which in turn will lead to the West working to find a new scenario accompanied by a change in global politics.

During her speech, Aisha stated that Erdogan did not give up the dreams of restoring the glories of the Ottoman Empire, noting that the foreign interventions carried out by Turkey under his command confirm this, whether in Armenia, Syria, Libya and support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

Aisha considered that the emergence of ISIS did not come out of nowhere, but rather came as a result of the understandings that took place at the level of international politics, and said, "But what happened on the ground? You know the rest of the events."

The Rome meeting did not reach its desired goals

Regarding the Rome meeting, Aisha said, "A few days ago, a meeting took place in Rome under the name of the forces that are fighting ISIS, but the Syrian Democratic Forces and representatives of the Autonomous Administration were not invited while they made huge sacrifices on the ground. Thus, we can say that a meeting was not attended by representatives of the forces that sacrificed will not reach its desired goals."

She continued in this context, "This became clear after the meeting ended, and nothing new came out. The Syrian crisis must be resolved peacefully, and it is a demand that has been repeated more than once, in addition to protecting the areas liberated from ISIS, and it is an item on paper, so how can we protect these areas while we are under the Turkish state's threatening amid international silence?"

The attacks on the Administration failed, but they did not end

Aisha commented on the attacks on the Autonomous Administration saying, "Everyone coexists with contradictions and clashes with the other over many matters, but as the issue becomes Autonomous Administration, we see that everyone unites against it because this project has turned into an obstruction in front of the ambitions of those colonial countries."

Aisha also denounced the siege and the threats that affect al-Shahba canton and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, and said, "If we want war, we can fight it, but our policy is not a war policy; however, if it is imposed on us, we are ready to respond to the call, and this is one of the articles of the democratic nation in which we believe, and it is the right of legitimate defense."

The abduction of our comrades in Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) came to obstruct progress in the Kurdish national unity file

Aisha Hesso also highlighted the issue of abducting cadres from their party in Southern Kurdistan by saying, "We cannot break the bonds of events. Today in Southern Kurdistan, when we see how the Turkish state is comfortable using its lands to attack the People's Defense Forces, we conclude that this is an item of a conspiracy. The party issued a statement about the abduction of three of our comrades in Southern Kurdistan."

Co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Aisha Hesso, ended her speech by saying, "The presence of our comrades in Southern Kurdistan was legitimate, whether from obtaining residency from the regional government, up to the rest of the routine procedures that I will not go into in details, so why have they been abducted at this particular time, I mean here at a time when they were preparing to receive a European delegation that would have contributed to the development of the national unity mechanism among the Kurdish parties and to prevent fighting in the legitimate defense zones."
