Families of abducted PYD- ANNES reveal developments   

On June 10th, security forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party kidnapped the representative of AANES, Jihad Hassan, and the members of PYD, Mustafa Khalil and Mustafa Aziz, in Southern Kurdistan when they were going to Erbil Airport to receive guests.

'We're afraid about their health

Farhad Hassan, brother of Jihad Hassan, spoke of their fear on their brother's life, and said, "Jihad and his companions have been detained at the Asayish of Southern Kurdistan for 3 weeks, and we do not know why they were arrested. They're not giving us any information on this. Jihad had been active in politics for more than seven years in the Southern Kurdistan and had done nothing to oppose the Southern Kurdistan laws. We're worried about their health."

'Pressure to sign documents'

Farhad said that his brother was arrested several times, "4 months ago, he visited Jihad Rojava, and he stayed there for 3 months. After his return to Southern Kurdistan, the Asayish of Southern Kurdistan called him, and they said, "There is a file in your name and you must attend," and they asked him to come at 9:00 A.M. Jihad remained in the interrogation for 3 continuous hours, and was interrogated several times, and they forced him to sign documents to give up the organization's representation in Southern Kurdistan, even though their work in Başûr is licensed, yet they forced him to sign those documents.

Threatening families before arrest'

Farhad noted that their family was threatened before the arrest of Jihad Hassan, and they asked the family to stay away from the organization, and added, "Our family in Southern Kurdistan was threatened several times by the Asayish Kurdistan. They asked us about our work, the names of our comrades in Rojava and the names of the Rojava administration."

"Our family and the family of Mustafa Othman Khalil went to the Asayish three days ago, but they only allowed Jihad's wife and Othman's wife to enter, and they told them that visits are prohibited, the investigation will continue for 15 to 20 days, and visits are prohibited," Farhad said.

'They should be released immediately'

Farhad appealed to the President of the Kurdistan Region, the KRG, the Kurdistan Parliament and the political parties to release the detainees immediately, "The regions of Rojava are living in critical conditions, and the enemy is seeking to eliminate the experience in all respects. No one should stand by the enemies' demands. Their arrest harms the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue, and we demand their release." The Kurdish people should unite and not be a reason to occupy any part of Kurdistan, everyone should support the Rojava experience."

As for Adla Abdullah, wife of Mustafa Othman Khalil, she confirmed that her husband was arrested twice by the security forces in Southern Kurdistan, and she said in this regard, "During the arrest, they were asking him to give up this job, they put in front of him a document that included that he give up the work and asked him to sign it." ".

A message from the detainees: Our conditions are bad; you must follow up on our situation'

On Saturday, Adla Abdullah said that they went to the region’s Asayish. “The name of Jihad Hassan, Mustafa Othman Khalil and Mustafa Aziz Mustafa was on their list. I sent them the money and the phone number. My husband sent a message with one of his friends who were with him in the same prison, saying that their conditions are bad, and he demanded everyone follows up on his condition, and Adla Abdullah also demanded the release of the detainees, saying that their conditions are bad."

Fatima Shaheen Ismail, wife of Mustafa Aziz Mustafa, said that her husband was arrested 3 years ago, and during the arrest he was threatened with his family, and they were asked to leave Southern Kurdistan and return to Rojava.

Fatima noted that they are waiting for any information about the detainees, but so far they have not obtained anything. She concluded her speech to release all the detainees.
