Public Prosecution Office of Turkish Bursa once again rejects Ocalan lawyers' request to meet him

Lawyers (Mazloum Denj, Ibrahim Bilmes, Newroz Uysal, and Serpai Koklu) submitted a request to the Public Prosecution Office in Bursa to meet their client in prison.

The prosecution did not respond to the request, like other requests submitted by lawyers over the past 22 months.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan who is detained on Imrali Island prison is subject to a strict isolation by the Turkish authorities, preventing him from meeting with his lawyers and family, in addition to banning phone calls.

The leader's last meeting with his lawyer was on August 7, 2019, while his last contact with the outside world was on March 25, through a phone call with his brother, Mohamed Ocalan, that lasted 5 minutes, then the connection was cut off.

The Public Prosecution Office in Bursa had imposed on Leader Ocalan a 6-month ban lawyers' meetings under the pretext of submitting the "road map" in 2009 to the European Court of Human Rights (DMME).

As for the sentence that began on September 23, 2020, it has ended since March 23, while the Turkish Prosecution continues not to allow lawyers to meet with Leader Ocalan.
