Russian warplanes carried out intense raids since dawn on the Syrian desert, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights(SOHR).

SOHR activists have monitored more than 30 raids during the past 48 hours, on the Palmyra Desert in the eastern countryside of Homs and Athriya, east of Hama, in addition to the Rusafa Desert in the countryside of Raqqa.

The number of raids during the past 72 hours has risen to more than 100, as Russian warplanes carried out more than 70 air strikes on May 26, during which they targeted the Athriya axis in the eastern countryside of Hama, the Rusafa Desert in the countryside of Raqqa, and the vicinity of Jabal al-Bashri at the administrative borders between Raqqa and Deir Al-Zour, which led to the killing of 5 ISIS mercenaries and the wounding of others.

Despite the intense air raids launched by Russian warplanes on ISIS mercenaries' sites in the Syrian Desert, they were unable to limit their movements and targeting of Damascus government forces.
