Melvan Rasoul: Kurds have defied the odds, proved themselves

Writer Melvan Rasoul stressed the need to take a Kurdistan stance against Turkish attacks on Southern Kurdistan, and considered waiting for an international position to curb Turkey is a waste of time.

Turkish Occupation Army has been targeting legitimate defence zones since April 23^rd, using internationally prohibited chemical weapons, while the People's Defence Forces (HPG) have been able to cause significant losses after direct strikes on their positions.

Writer and journalist Melvan Rasoul considers ongoing Turkish attacks on Başûr Kurdistan, a plot planned for many years over the whole of Kurdistan.”

He added: "For 40 years, the Turkish State has sought to end the will of the Kurds until it has become a fundamental target, and continues its policy of Kurdish bloodshed and obliterating Kurdish identity in Bakur Kurdistan."

According to Rasoul, Turkey's continued attacks on the Kurdistan Liberation Movement are the result of the Turkish State's confusion over the AKP's authority to support racist nationalist parties and the failure of its policies at all levels.

"In Asia, Africa and Europe at all levels, and now trying to win in Kurdistan, Turkey has failed to achieve the dictatorship it seeks to dominate the political, economic, social and cultural life of the world."

He continued: "The policies of Turkish fascism against the Kurdistan Liberation Movement in legitimate defence zones, a continuation of the conspiracy that started from Imrali to the People's Democratic Party, the Qandil Mountains, Zap, Avaşîn, Metîna, to Kirkuk, to establish a cordon around Rojava and northern Syria, in order to build a system that would be hostile to the Kurd."

Waiting for an international position in denouncing the Turkish attacks on Kurdistan was seen as a waste of time: "The Kurds should not wait for any serious attitude towards the world powers that are silently monitoring Turkey's violations."

"For the time being, a unified Kurdistan position has been adopted. The Kurds have managed to get through difficult stages following the anti-Kurd conventions of Lausanne and Sèvres," he said.

Rasoul stressed that "All Kurdistan and every Kurdish who adores their homeland must rise up against the exclusionary policies that continue to be practiced against the Kurds."

Resistance was the only way to curb the Turkish State: "We hope that the Kurdish resistance will increase, the resistance will win, and the Turkish army will fall as it did in Zap, Avaşîn and in the 1980s during the confrontation with the Kurdistan Liberation Movement."

Melvan Rasoul concluded by highlighting the role of politicians, academics and intellectuals: "We hope that every politician, intellectual and academic will continue to fight on the side of the fighters and to protect the cause of the Kurds and to denounce the violations of the Turkish Occupation by their positions and pens."
