Popular resentment on Baghdad and Hewlêr silence over Turkish attacks

On 23^rd April last, the Turkish Occupation Army launched a ground and air attack on the legitimate " Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna " defense areas in Başûr Kurdistan, using internationally banned gases.

Turkish attacks on the Kurdistan Mountains were met with popular outrage in parts of Kurdistan and the world, and Kurdistan considered the attacks a threat to their existence.

In the Zarkan district of Hasakah canton, the people expressed their displeasure and rejection of the ongoing Turkish occupation attacks, considering them an attempt to divide Kurdistan territory.

Occupation

Bauer Abdo from Zarkan district denounced Turkish occupation attacks on legitimate defense zones in Başûr Kurdistan: "Attacks on the zones of Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna target the general Kurdish people and threaten their existence."

The Turkish army aimed to occupy these areas, adding: "The Turkish occupation justifies its attacks on Başûr Kurdistan under the pretext of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). These allegations are baseless. The objective of the occupation is nothing more.

Illegal innervation

Taha Isoo, for his part, also said from Zarkan: "The attacks by the Turkish Occupying State on Başûr Kurdistan are not the first. They have attacked Haftanin and Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna," he said.

'The silence of the Governments of Iraq and Başûr Kurdistan was criticized, and Taha Isoo questioned why the two Governments were silent about the Turkish incursion into their territory, adding: "The silence of the Central Government and the Kurdistan region demonstrates their blessing for Turkish attacks on legitimate defense zones."

'Silence is the sign of satisfaction'

In the words of Ibrahim Haj Omar, one of Ras al-Ain 's residents occupied by the Turkish Occupation Army and its mercenaries: "Turkey aims at occupation and demographic change in whatever part of Kurdistan, and we have seen it in Ras al-Ain, Afrin and Tal Abyed."

He demanded that the Government of Başûr Kurdistan and the Central Iraqi Government define their position on Turkish attacks targeting their territory, otherwise their silence would be considered a sign of satisfaction. "
