HPG: Our forces make historic resistance against occupation attacks

The Media Center of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) issued a statement about the Turkish occupation army’s attacks on Zab, Afashin and Matina, as well as the resistance of the Guerrilla Forces:

The statement read:

"On the 23^rd of this April, the Turkish occupation army launched an attack on the areas of Matina, Avashin, and Zab in the legitimate defense zones, while our forces made historic resistance and inflicted painful strikes on the occupation army.

Between 00:30 and 01:30, the Turkish occupation army wanted to land its soldiers by Skorsky helicopters in both Gire Zendora and Derari. Our Guerrilla Forces targeted the helicopters that were trying to land the soldiers in the square and forced the helicopters to move away from the area.

Targeting the occupiers who wanted to land at Mam Resho and the killing of many soldiers

At approximately 21:00, after the bombardment, the Turkish occupation army landed soldiers at Mam Resho Square. At that time, the Guerrilla Forces targeted two Skorsky helicopters that were trying to land the soldiers. The helicopters that were dealt the strikes moved away from the square. The occupiers suffered casualties without obtaining confirmed information about the number of deaths.

The occupiers, who tried at 21:00 to station in the area, became a target for our forces twice. In the operation, a soldier was killed and many were injured.

An operation of the air defense forces

The forces of the Martyr Delal Air Defense bombarded in the framework of the "It IS Time for Freedom" campaign, on April 23^rd at 08:45, with an air defense machinery the Jeleh battalion in Jeleh district of Jolemerg.
