Interior Ministry: Some statements issued by political parties, personalities aim at inverting facts, hiding truths

On Saturday, the body issued a statement to public opinion,

It said in its beginning: "Since the start of the revolution in north and east Syria and the establishment of the Autonomous Administration and until now, the Syrian regime, through the National Defense militia, has sought to destabilize security and stability in our areas by fabricating problems and security breaches, the most recent of which was what happened on Tuesday evening 04-20-2021 in an armed attack by them at a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces in the city of Qamishlo, which led to the death of a member of our force."

It continued: "As a result, our forces responded to the fire source centers and with the outbreak of clashes, these militias used civilians as human shields in order to stir up discord among all components of the region, and on the contrary, the Internal Security Forces allowed citizens to enter the security areas under their control as they are the party that protects the security of all citizens without discrimination, and with the expansion of the clashes, the Russian side intervened to find a mechanism for a ceasefire and to reach a solution."

It added, "This mediation resulted in a humanitarian truce that was violated by the National Defense militias, amid full commitment by the Internal Security Forces to that truce."

The statement indicated, "In this context regarding the current situation, some statements were issued by political parties and figures describing these events in a shameful manner by inverting the facts, concealing the truths and turning a blind eye to them, seeking incitement and creating strife among the components of our people. Furthermore, the assassination of the martyr dignitary Hayes al-Jeryan is a conspiracy agreed upon by all parties hostile to the Democratic Autonomous Administration, and the reality of what is happening now is nothing but ending the focus of tension, strife and providing security, stability for all components of the region."

It concluded, "We, in the Interior Body, regret the issuance of some shameful statements that do not promote to the spirit of responsibility that falls on everyone's shoulders, especially at this sensitive and historic stage, and we also assure the public opinion our commitment to protect all components of this region and to achieve security and stability on the basis of co-existence and peoples' fraternity principles."
