The Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria, in coordination with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the People's Protection Units (YPG) and Women's Protection Units (YPJ), implemented the Humanitarian and Security Campaign in Al-Hol camp with the aim of ending the threat of ISIS sleeper cells in the camp.

According to the data, more than 60,000 displaced people, refugees, and families of ISIS mercenaries live in Al-Hol camp.

Journalist Aziz Koyluoglu spoke to our agency about the dangers and threats of ISIS to the region and the world, as well as the struggle waged by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria against ISIS.

Koyluoglu said, "The truth is that the campaign against ISIS mercenaries in Al-Hol camp is a long-term campaign. In this camp, anyone who rejects ISIS ideas or wishes to deviate from this thought is executed. In the recent period, ISIS mercenaries have carried out many executions. Al-Hol camp is not only located under the control of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, but there are also international forces there, especially the international coalition against ISIS."

'ISIS is not a problem of the Autonomous Adminstration alone'

Koyluoglu pointed to the importance of the Humanitarian and Security Campaign and said: "The Humanitarian and Security Campaign was the most correct measure because international powers have held the Autonomous Administration the responsibility of ISIS. ISIS is not the responsibility of the Autonomous Administration alone, or the responsibility of this region only, but rather it is the responsibility of the whole world. The whole world should be more effective against ISIS."

He also noted that the international coalition did not play a significant role in Al-Hol camp campaign, adding: "The international coalition forces had to play their role in the campaign as much as the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces. This campaign should have been a joint campaign."

Journalist Aziz Koyluoglu said: "All parties place the ISIS problem on the shoulders of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria alone, and this is not correct. It is a cowardly and deceptive political position. They seek, through this policy, to strengthen the presence of ISIS, and thus extend their life in the region. The countries of the world that are fighting against ISIS must take a firm and concrete stance on this. Even now their position is still weak."

''They seek to prolong ISIS' life

Aziz Koyluoglu noted that there are parties seeking to deepen crises in the Middle East, so they do not want to eradicate ISIS, and in this regard he referred to the Turkish state, and said: "Although the Turkish state claims that it is against ISIS, but the truth is that it is a partner of ISIS. It has been clear that it is ISIS's partner through its policies that it has followed in Afrin, Girê Spî, Jarablus, Al-Bab, Serêkaniyê and Azaz. In these areas, ISIS is being revived, the Turkish state that seeks to prolong the life of ISIS. The State of Qatar also has a major role in this issue, as it is still the source of funding for ISIS and Islamic extremist forces."

Koyluoglu stated that there are thousands of ISIS mercenaries present in detention centers in the areas of north and east Syria, and that these pose a great danger, and he also said: "The question now is what should the parties that want to eliminate ISIS do? There are thousands of ISIS mercenaries in the Autonomous Administration detention facilities, and according to my information, there are citizens of 57 countries in Al-Hol camp, that is, ISIS mercenaries want to carry out their extremist operations in 57 countries. International powers do not officially recognize the Autonomous Administration nor provide economic support."

'The continuing of ISIS mercenaries' danger in prisons'

Aziz Koyluoglu noted that the Autonomous Administration cannot prosecute ISIS mercenaries because they are citizens of other countries, and said in this regard: "These mercenaries who are citizens of many countries of the world have committed crimes in Syria and Iraq, and they cannot be tried in the areas of north and east Syria. The Autonomous Adminsitration in North and East Syria does not have the laws and powers that allow the prosecution of these mercenaries. The Autonomous Administration cannot bear such responsibility. The existence of ISIS does not only pose a danger to the Autonomous Administration, Syria and Iraq but to the whole world and if the world cannot find a solution, then ISIS mercenaries who are in the camps will constitute a new dangerous future to all of these countries."

Koyluoglu said that the Autonomous Administration cannot keep ISIS mercenaries in detention centers forever, and there must be an international court, and he said in this regard: "After the international trial, every country should receive its citizens and work to try them, this is the only solution."

'There must be an ideological struggle against ISIS'

In the conclusion of his speech, journalist Aziz Koyluoglu noted that ISIS mercenaries adopt an ideological approach, and said that they organize their ranks based on the extremist Islamic mentality, and said in this regard: "ISIS is currently receiving support from the forces in order to spread its ideas. The military struggle alone is not enough to eliminate ISIS. The real struggle against ISIS must be an ideological struggle. Those who are combating ISIS today in the region, especially the international coalition against ISIS, support the Autonomous Administration only in terms of the military in the war against ISIS, but the Autonomous Administration must be recognized within the framework of international laws, and there must be initiatives in this direction."
