Turkey has announced the death of one of its soldiers and the injury of a child in a rocket attack on a military compound in the Ba'ashiqa area in northern Iraq, Reuters reported.

According to a statement issued by the Turkish Ministry of Defense, three rockets were fired at a military base in the area and one hit them. The others had fallen in nearby village, and the child had been injured.

While a source told Al-Sumaria News, yesterday, "a Turkish army camp in Nineveh has been targeted by two missiles."

The source added that "the camp has Turkish soldiers in Ba'ashiqa area."

The majority of the forces in Iraq, with the exception of the PDK, reject the Turkish military presence in Iraq and consider it a direct occupation.
