Baghouz notable appreciates highly SDF

It is two years since the Deir Ezzor town of Baghouz was liberated from the ISIS mercenary groups as one of the town's notables says it is a ''great pleasure''.

On March 23^rd, 2019, Baghouz, the last bastion of ISIS, was declared free, by the Syrian Democratic Forces, the SDF, that put an end to the geography held by the extremist group.

The last and fiercest of battles in Baghouz was coordinated between the SDF and the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS that took the civilians as human shield.

In this context, SDF commander, Mohamed Miheid, in an interview with ANHA, says '' we stormed the area from different sides, on two phases, the Baghouz was the last refuge in Deir Ezzor''.

In the first operation we encircled the whole area, for up to 20 days, and we defeated ISIS, that heralded the group militarily, and we brought the area under our control''.

Miheidi made an observation that ''due to the human shields the whole operation took some little more time, and our advance was slow, to save the innocent people'', and '' those surrendered into the power of the SDF were transferred into hospitals, to receive proper treatment and secure them''.

''but since then SDF operations against the ISIS cells in coordination with the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, relented never in the region, he concluded.

From part, theeb Xilef Daud, a Baghouz notable, expressed his pleasure on the liberation of the Baghouz from the ISIS ideology and bringing into end the region it was controlling that paved the way for the people to return home, after peace and security were established thanks to the efforts exerted by the SDF, '' we reject the presence of the ISIS terrorist cells that try to subvert peace and stability in the region'', noting that a mass amount of people have returned to their homes after being liberated thanks to the Autonomous Administration'' he said.

At the end Daud hailed the services provided by the SDF, and the protection give, evaluating highly the role played by the '' martyrs that sacrificed their lives on the battlegrounds in the fight against ISIS, as well as the wounded to bring life to the city and give hope to the people free from fear and horror'', he concluded.
