​​​​​​​Farhad Tilo: What is going on in Imrali prison must be revealed

The statement of the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Liberal Union, Farhad Tilo, to our agency came in a comment on the recent allegations that were circulated on Turkish social media about the deterioration of the leader Abdullah Ocalan's health.

Al-Asr Human Rights Office said in its latest statement, last Monday, that it was unable in any way to communicate with its clients in Imrali prison, and that the last meeting with the leader Ocalan in Imrali Island prison was on August 7, 2019, and that its last contact with clients took place on April 27, 2020, by phone.

The office added: "Since that period, we have not been able to know any information, until, on March 14, 2021, some allegations about Mr. Ocalan's life appeared on anonymous social networking sites."

Tilo said: "It is always known that Turkey promotes allegations, and the recent allegations are not the first of their kind, and this new move is a continuation of the policy of the Justice and Development Party, Erdogan's party towards the leader Ocalan, and a continuation of the propaganda policy that it adopts to empower its authority."

Tilo added: "Turkey has always adopted this policy, through which it seeks to send messages to the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and the Kurdish community."

Tilo pointed out that the Kurdish community and the Kurdish political movement always take these allegations seriously, and said: "At the current stage and with the spread of these allegations, Turkey must clear the way for the Kurdish people to see the leader Ocalan's health conditions, and reveal the truth about what is going on in Imrali prison."

Tilo pointed out that the Kurdish community continues its activities against the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan on various political and social levels."

At the conclusion of his statement, the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Liberal Union, Farhad Tilo, held human rights institutions, Kurdish political parties and blocs the responsibility for ending the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan through more pressure.

He said: "Human rights organizations have not yet performed their role, and they must shoulder their responsibilities, as well as the Kurdish political parties, to pressure the Turkish regime and force it to find solutions to break the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan."
