France has requested a meeting of the US-led international coalition against ISIS, after its re-emergence in Iraq.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, "We note, in terms of the situation in Iraq in particular, the resurgence of ISIS strongly," according to Agence France-Presse.

And added" the situation force us with Iraqi authorities to request from the anti-ISIS Coalition, which has not met since long time to hold meeting again to reinforce sovereignty and stability of Iraq,"

Le Drian added that "this alliance must meet quickly, and I think that will happen."

Before leaving the White House, former US President Donald Trump had reduced the number of US forces in Iraq to 2,500, while France urged President Joe Biden to continue to give priority to combating ISIS.
