Israeli army training to hit 3,000 Hezbollah targets; latter threatens

Hezbollah's Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah responded to the surprise Israeli exercises, saying: "After all the latest threats from Israel, no one can guarantee that it will not lead to war. Israel will see things that it has not seen since its inception," according to the Jerusalem Post Israeli on Tuesday.

Nasrallah's comment came in response to the training conducted by the Israeli army in preparation for the possibility of war in the north, and the exercise conducted by the Israeli Air Force is called "Fird Hagalil - The Rose of Galilee."

Nasrallah added, "We are not interested in conflict or war, but if you force it on us, we will fight."

The Israeli exercises began on Sunday and is expected to continue until Wednesday, and are designed to improve the Air Force's combat readiness, specifically to ensure its ability to maintain control of the sky for extended periods of time.

According to the Israeli newspaper, "During the exercises, the Israeli Air Force proved its ability to hit 3,000 Hezbollah targets within a 24-hour period."

Despite the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus crisis, nearly 85 percent of the IAF took part in the operation, in which all branches, including technicians, munitions officers and reservists, were called up to participate.
