Yemen: 13 civilians killed and wounded in Houthi shelling

Local sources told the official Yemeni News Agency that the Houthi groups, on Wednesday, shelled the Al-Haima area in Al-Taiziyah District, east of Taiz, which is under their control, with heavy and medium weapons, after they were besieged by military crews, armored vehicles and a tank.

As a result of the indiscriminate shelling, the child Anwar Abdel Fattah, Arafat Dahan, two others and two women were killed, and 7 women were wounded.

According to the agency, the members of the groups raided 18 homes of citizens in Al-Haima area, and blew up two homes, while other homes were damaged by the violent bombing.

The local Al-Shari newspaper reported that the Houthi groups attacked the area with heavy and medium weapons, which resulted in deaths and injuries among civilians, a day after clashes between the people of the area and Houthi gunmen, who tried to force a number of young people in the area to fight in their ranks.

The same sources reported that the clashes resulted in the killing of 8 Houthi militants, in addition to the killing of 4 residents of Azlat Al-Hima, including two young men who were kidnapped with the militia on board the military crew, and wounding others on both sides, which ended with forcing the rest of the Houthi gunmen to leave the area.
