On Tuesday, Russia expanded the sanctions it imposes on German officials, over accusations of information piracy that targeted the German parliament in 2015.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement: "In response to the devastating measures from the European Union, Moscow decided to expand the list of German citizens who are prevented from entering Russian territory," without revealing the names and number of the targeted officials.

About a week ago, Russia announced the imposition of sanctions on European officials in response to measures adopted by the European Union in October against the backdrop of poisoning Russian dissident Alexei Navalny.
