Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, confirmed on Monday that '' his country never wants tension in the region, but it would defend it's national security''.

Khatibzadeh said '' counselor to Iraqi Prime Minister visited Tehran at our request, as talks centered on latest regional developments'', and that '' we are on close ties with the Iraqi side, as deliberations between the two countries are usual''.

It was reported by the Mehr News Agency as quoting sources on Sunday that an Iraqi delegation, headed by Abu Jihad al-Hashemi, is on a visit to Tehran with a message from the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi.
