5 killed in separate bomb blasts in Kabul

Police spokesman Firdaus Faramar said that the three explosions were caused by "sticky bombs," one of which killed two Afghan police officers, after the bomb, which was attached to their truck, exploded in the central district of Kabul. He said that a civilian was also injured in the explosion.

Faramar indicated that two security personnel were wounded in a similar attack with a bomb targeting a second police truck in a neighborhood in western Kabul, while talking about a third explosion in the city, which did not result in any casualties.

Similar acts of violence have rocked Kabul and several other Afghan states in recent months, including bombings, missile strikes and targeted killings, and ISIS mercenaries have adopted a number of these attacks.

An increasing number of attacks have targeted journalists, politicians and human rights activists as violence increased in Afghanistan, despite peace talks between the government and the Taliban.

The peace talks, which began on September 12, are scheduled to resume in Doha in early January.
