TEV-DEM branch in Tirbê Spiyê demands KDP to return to Kurdish rank

The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) branch in Tirbê Spiyê district called on the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) to return to the Kurdish side.

The Democratic Society Movement in Tirbê Spiyê district issued a statement to the public opinion, regarding the events and popular protests in the cities of Başûr (Southern Kurdistan).

The statement was read by the Member of the Democratic Society Movement, Abdel Halim Ismail, in front of the Workers Union Center in al-Jazira region, in Tirbê Spiyê district.

The statement indicated that the Democratic Society Movement is following with great concern the "popular protests taking place in the cities of Southern Kurdistan, as well as the marches and sit-ins that Şengal is witnessing."

The statement considered that the causes of the incidents taking place in the cities of Başûr are the result of the popular rejection of the signed agreement against Şengal, "despite their differences and the lack of a relationship between the two incidents, the reason is almost the same. In Şengal, marches and sit-ins in solidarity with the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Şengal, Şengal Protection Units and Isidkhan Asayish were caused by the agreement on the Şengal Protection Units, considering them as illegal forces, and replacing them with Iraqi forces and Democratic Party Forces."

Ismail called for "the Kurdistan Democratic Party to return to the Kurdish unity, meet the requirements of the people, whether in Başûr or Şengal, and to move towards holding a Kurdistan national conference."
