Lecture on World Anti- Violence Day in Raqqa 

The lecture was delivered at the building of Women's Administration in the city of Raqqa and was attended by a big number of women of the region, civil and military institutions members and Women Office in Syria's Democratic Council.                                  

Member of the Training Committee in Women Administration in Raqqa, Zahra Shlash, narrated the story of the three Mirabal sisters who were assassinated savagely in 1960, and pointed out that violence inflicted on women in north and east Syria such as  sexual and body abuses at the hands of Turkish Occupation Forces and affiliated mercenaries are still going on.     

Shlash considered '' the Syrian crisis as one of the main causes of violence against women, and that till now not a single international law has been enacted to protect women from violence, and wrong they face especially at the hands of Turkish Occupation Forces''.   

Zahra  made clear that '' Turkish Occupation State practices and violence against women, that being published on social media sites are mere attempts to strike at the will of women and to spread horror and fear'' stressing that women that have learnt ideas of the Democratic Nation and play their usual and leading role in society would never be stuck. 

From her part, member of the Reconciliation Committee in Raqqa's Women Administration, Buthaina Al-Sheik, touched on violence against women in the time of total curfew imposed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic bodily and psychologically, due to the patriarchal and authoritarian mentality, citing some feminist figures who fought for women to gain their rights and play their effectual role in leading society such as Barine Kobani, Avesta Khabur and Havrine Khalaf.
