​​​​​​​Iraqi politician: National forces should confront Turkish interference

Iraqi politician, Asaad al-Abadi, said that the Iraqi government's position on the Turkish intervention is weakened by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP)-Turkey relations, and he called on the Iraqi national forces to face the Turkish interventions.

Al-Abadi's talk came during an interview held by ANHA agency about Turkey’s interference in Iraqi affairs and Başûr Kurdistan amid their silence.

He pointed out that the Iraqi government is powerless to confront the Turkish intervention for Barzani-led KDPs close relation with Turkey. Barzani validates its interference under cover for the prosecution of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

Al-Abadi added, "The Iraqi government's adherence to the Turkish intervention file is severely weak as a result of communication and interaction between the regional government, which is under the full control of the Kurdistan Democratic Party."

Al-Abadi talked about the tension in relations between the governments of Baghdad and Hewlêr, and returned them to the Baghdad government's control of the border crossings and international airports, and the violations committed by the Power Party in Başûr Kurdistan, in reference to the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

The external reasons related to Turkey-KRG economic relations that reach billions of dollars in addition to the smuggling by influential parties in Başûr Kurdistan in cooperation with some parties in Iraqi government and parliament.

Al-Abadi anticpates that the region will witness a change in regional and national powers agreements, in addition to exposing things at the domestic level or Iraq regional relations.

The Iraqi politician noted that several countries interfere in Iraqi affairs in addition to the Turkish intervention, including Iran, the Persian Gulf and neighboring countries, adding: "There is no country that did not interfere in Iraqi affairs."

Asaad al-Abadi clarified that interference in internal affairs depends on the extent the national forces are aware of their serious political approach in their internal relations and with the ruling legislative or executive institutions.

Accordingly, “The national forces inside and abroad are strongly called upon to build bridges of cooperation to face these regional interventions that harm good neighborly relations. They are called on more than any other time to meet on the bases of common historical and political interests to take a clear and frank stance.

In the conclusion of his speech, the Iraqi politician Asaad al-Abadi mentioned an example of how national forces, especially the Kurdish and Arab forces, converge and meet in the region, and he said that a conference should be held in Baghdad in which the Arab and Kurdish relationship will be discussed, all historical, political and social aspects are studied, and a strategic program will be reached in the near term to touch the features of the region's future in light of Turkey's blatant interventions.
