​​​​​​​Armed attack on the University of Kabul

Governmental officials in Afghanistan have said that ''gunmen exchanged fire with the Afghan Security Forces in the campus of the University in Kabul after a blast in the area, where at least six people were injured''. 

From his part, spokesman for the Interior Ministry Tareq Arian said that '' gunshots are still being heard in the area, but the security forces closed it, we do not know whether we deal with a coordinated attack or other thing'', according to Al-Hurra Network. 

Adding that '' many attackers stormed the campus of the university and clashed with security forces''. 

In this relation, spokesman for the Health Ministry, Akmel Samsur said '' six people were injured at least among whom a teacher and a student from the university''.

Taliban denied the participation of it's fighters in the ongoing attack on the Kabul University, that has not been adopted by any group''.

Local media had said that a book fair was on display inside the university, and that the gunfire occurred when many high ranking figures were present.  

Professor Zabih Allah Haydari said to a local media that '' the lectures were ongoing when the gunfire started'', pointing out that university officials and security forces escorted the students outside the campus.

Security forces closed all roads leading to the university campus, where some families were trying to reach their sons inside the university. 

The attack is the second of it's kind within ten days, where ISIS mercenaries sent a suicide bomber to an educational center in the quarter of Dasht Barshi in Kabul, where 24 students were killed.  

Last year, 8 people were killed by a bomb just outside the gates of the university campus, and in 2016 armed men attacked the American University in Kabul, that resulted in the killing of 13 people.
