On Saturday morning, Arab press touched upon to the Russian-Iranian rivalry in Syria, in addition to the Turkish intervention in Libya,

"Rivalry will intensify between Russia and Iran in Syria"

The beginning of the Syrian issue, and in this context, Al-Arab newspaper said: “With Russia realizing that it may lose its compass in Syria in the face of the contradiction of its agenda with its ally Iran, the Kremlin has intensified its actions so as not to waste a victory that it has worked on for years to remove the United States from the Middle East, and achieving political, economic and geostrategic gains in a region does not seem to witness stability in the near term.

And added, "For months, the Syrian arena has witnessed a frenzied struggle of agendas between Russia on the one hand, and the Bashar al-Assad regime and Iran on the other hand, as President Vladimir Putin is competing eagerly to become the main decision-maker in the country, and this matter may lead to a mixture of calculations at a time that observers consider full with surprises.

While Moscow is working to bring about radical changes in the structure of the Syrian state, and other changes in the ruling system, especially at the level of the army and security, in order to ensure its absolute hegemony over the country that has been devastated by the war in the past nine years, Damascus seeks to buy time to keep things as they are, until the presidential elections next year.

On the other hand, Iran is working to freeze everything as it is, until it is clear what will happen in the United States after the upcoming elections early next November, in which the regime in Tehran relies heavily on its results.

Observers believe that the certain thing that means the Russians on the ground in Syria is that they are the main victor in the Syrian-Syrian conflict and how they harvest the fruits of this victory, but historical experiences indicate the difficulty of co-existence between two foreign powers, occupying or controlling in one place.

It is likely that the competition will intensify and coordination between the Russians and the Iranians will be absent, awaiting decisive changes. And if Russia’s new “Tsar” decides to keep the king of the game on the Syrian chessboard, it will not be easy for him to keep Iran away from the Syrian spoils after all this investment.

Consequently, his country will be more and more embarrassed to move the chess stones between Israel, Iran, the United States and Turkey.

"Al-Kazemi is pessimistic"

Regarding the Iraqi issue, Al-Bayan newspaper said: “The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazimi, considered yesterday that achieving a balance for his country between Washington and Tehran is impossible,” considering that “the lack of jobs, poor services and corruption push young people to extremism, indicating that patience is better than being drawn into chaos. Bloody and civil war. "

Al-Kazimi said on the last day of his European tour that he concluded in London and left it back to Baghdad, in statements to the London newspaper, The Guardian, that he is about sensitive negotiations regarding further withdrawals of American forces and the conditions for their redeployment after the American elections. Whoever is in the White House has an opportunity to overcome this sensitive issue and its repercussions.”

"Turkey seeks to thwart the Libyan agreement"

Regarding the Libyan issue, Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper said: “The Libyan National Army and the forces of GNA agreed in Geneva yesterday to “permanent ceasefire” throughout the country, amid international, regional and local welcome, and Turkish suspicion.

The agreement also included 12 articles, foremost of which was an immediate ceasefire, the exit of all mercenaries and foreign fighters within a maximum period of three months, a freeze on military agreements for training inside Libya, and the formation of a joint military force.

The head of the General Command delegation of the "National Army" pledged to abide by the agreement, and said in the press conference yesterday: "We are happy with what we have accomplished." While Major General Ahmed Abu Shahma, head of GNA's delegation, said that this agreement "will be the main reason to stop the bloodshed in Libya

The agreement was met with Arab and international welcome. In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its hope that it would contribute "to the inauguration of a new era that achieves security, peace, sovereignty and stability for Libya."

On the other hand, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan downplayed the agreement and said that it is not a ceasefire at the highest level. Time will show how long it will last at a lower level.
