Armenia: Baku augments Ankara's role in settling conflict

Armenia confirmed that Baku is trying to increase Ankara's role in settling the conflict, while Turkey obstructs the Russian mediation mission in Karabakh.

"The Azerbaijani authorities, under direct pressure from Turkey, are impeding the Russian mediation mission in Karabakh," Vagarshak Harutyunyan, a senior advisor to the Armenian Prime Minister, told the Russian news agency.

Harutyunyan, who previously held the position of Minister of Defense of Armenia, added: "Violent fighting is currently taking place in Artsakh, despite the adoption of a humanitarian ceasefire agreement in Moscow through the mediation of Russia, and this means that Ankara puts pressure on the Azerbaijani authorities in every possible way, and the Azerbaijani side obstructs in turn any Russian mediation mission, in order to increase Turkey's role in settling the conflict. "

On October 10, Russia announced a ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The second, with the support of Turkey, sought to end it, in light of the Turkish Defense Minister’s assertion from the early hours of the agreement that "operations will not stop."
