On October 9th, the Federal Government in Baghdad and the KRG announced that they have concluded an agreement on the administration of Şengal described by both as "historical", though the two parties did not take into account the views of the people of Şengal, who repelled ISIS' onslaught in 2014, where massacres were committed, and where neither the Iraqi Army nor the Peshmerga forces played their roles to defend the province.

Today, after six years, though the security and administrative situation in Şengal is stable, due to presence of Şengal Resistance Units, the YBS, and the Ezidxan Asayîş, and the council of the Autonomous Democratic Administration in Şengal, decide to rule the district, where the will of the residents have been ignored by this agreement.

Yesterday, Sunni, Shia and Yezidi components in Şengal took to the streets in demonstrations, at the center of the city, declaring their rejection to the agreement, raising banners that written on it " We Reject Utterly any Agreement Disregards the Will of the People."

In this context, Hamo Saeed, representative of Yazidi tribal that took part in the demonstration, said that the agreement is another catastrophe, hinting at the 2014 massacre, and what is being planned is at the expense of residents.

Hamo indicated that they don’t accept the signed agreement, and reject it completely, because it never serves their aspirations to improve the situation in the province, saying" Peshmerga forces and Iraqi army left us alone in confronting ISIS attacks, just Şengal people, who sacrificed themselves to defend their lands."

Hamo continued as saying" today, we all in Şengal don’t accept the agreement, the Turkish role is not ruled out, where it launches attacks constantly on Şengal and endangers lives of the Yazidis on the pretext of presence of Kurdistan Workers' Party, but this utterly is untrue and the agreement serves its interests".

From his part, Ali Husain, a resident from Şengal added: "when the Peshmerga left Şengal, we confronted ISIS alone, the Yazidis exposed to mass murder, until now thousands of Yazidi women are still missing after been abducted, and if the Peshmerga return the situation will not be stable, saying:" We denounce and reject the agreement because it was signed without our will"
