On Thursday, the European Commission called on Turkey to start a constructive dialogue with Cyprus and Greece.

The European Commission called on Ankara to take more steps to ease tension in the region.

The Commission has also warned Turkey about the exciting developments in the Cypriot city of Varosha.

European Commission President von der Leyen and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis issued a statement following a joint conference held via visual media.

In a related context, the official media in Turkey said that the foreign ministers of Turkey and Greece met, today, Thursday, for the first time since the start of the dispute between the two member states of NATO over the rights to explore for energy and maritime borders in the eastern Mediterranean.

According to the media, Minister Mevlut Cavusoglo met with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias on the sidelines of a World Security Forum in Bratislava, capital of Slovakia, to discuss "bilateral and regional issues."
