U.S. MP urges his country to respond to Turkey's deployment of "jihadists" against Artsakh

A member of the US Congressman urged his country's foreign affairs to have a response to Ankara's deployment of mercenaries in the conflict zone in Artsakh / Karabakh.

US Congressman Brad Sherman called on the US State Department to respond to Turkey's deployment of "jihadists" in the conflict zone in Karabakh, where Azerbaijani forces are using these foreign militants as mercenaries against Artsakh, according to Armenian Press.

Sherman added, "Today, I spoke to Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent and Co-Chair of the Minsk Group in the United States Andrew Schofer about reports that Turkey is recruiting and deploying fighters from jihadist groups in Syria on Artsakh-Azerbaijan border."

"I have urged the Foreign Ministry to continue to put pressure on Turkey that the deployment of foreign fighters in the region is unacceptable and must be answered," Sherman said.

Numerous statements issued by the countries of the region and their leaders confirmed that Azerbaijani forces are exploiting the Syrian mercenary groups affiliated with Turkey in the attacks on Artsakh.
