A technical meeting of the Turkish and Greek military delegations is being held this afternoon to discuss "methods of conflict resolution" at the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization "NATO", in the Belgian capital, Brussels.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have previously agreed to start technical talks between Ankara and Athens to establish mechanisms to avoid clashes in the eastern Mediterranean.

Relationships between Greece and Turkey are experiencing tensions in the eastern Mediterranean region due to the latter's exploration of energy sources and natural resources, in areas that Greece says belongs its continental shelf.
