​​​​​​​AA of Şingal: We reject any decisions that oppose our people's interests

The Democratic Autonomous Administration issued a statement on the recent discussions between Baghdad and Hewler about the security and administrative situation in Şingal, in an attempt to bring about change in the region without taking into consideration the visions and will of the people of Şingal.

The statement indicated that the people have paid a heavy price against ISIS until now, and that they will not accept any agreement on Şingal

The statement referred to the massacres and genocide that had been committed against the Yazidi community so far, and said that the last of them was on August 3, 2014, after the Kurdistan Democratic Party handed over Şingal and left it among the claws of ISIS mercenaries, and the Iraqi government did not defend it, until the massacre began.

The council stated that these enemy's goals had not been achieved, and that as a result of struggle and resistance, the Yazidi community had the strength and will to triumph over the enemy by paying great sacrifices.

The statement indicated that before 2014, the political parties imposed their policies on the Yezidis, but the Yazidi community is no longer the same.

The council referred to the ongoing negotiations between Hawler and Baghdad on the disputed areas, and said: "Whatever happens, projects and decisions on Singal will not be possible without the views of the Yazidis, so we are following this process and discussions closely."

The council clarified that their primary goal and desire is to protect their society and preserve Şingal status, and continued: “The decisions and agreements that will emerge from these talks are outside our control and opinions.

He emphasized, "Finally, we say we do not accept any changes and discussions that we do not have role in."

The Council of Democratic Autonomous Administration in Şingal (MXDŞ) stated that the discussions on Article 140 regarding the disputed territories must produce a result, and be a party to these discussions, and this must be known.

The Council stated that no discussion or negotiation would be accepted other than this approach, and indicated that a solution could be found in cooperation with them.
