In a tweet on his account on Twitter, the former president of the HDP, Selahattin Demirtaş, affirmed that “the ruling authority has made big mistakes by only thinking of itself and its close  surroundings, despite the state the economy has reached,” considering that “waiting until this system goes alone is wrong thinking.” .

He added, "I think that it is necessary to establish a democratic alliance on a wide ground in order to save our country and our society from the current situation and bring it to the right path. It would not be correct to consider this democratic alliance merely an electoral alliance, the main goal should be to unite society around the basic principles of democracy and the idea of a common future. "

He stressed the need for political parties to be the vanguard of the democratic alliance, however, it must  be an open alliance for all social strata, from trade unions to professional societies, from women's organizations to environmental movements and youth, from chambers to associations and institutions, and from artists to literary figures Individuals who do not have any institutional ties, and must continually grow through the inclusion of all who accept the basic principles of the alliance. "

In addition, he explained that the supposed alliance should be concerned with, among its goals, "drafting a modern constitution, moving to a strengthened parliamentary system, ensuring the independence of the judiciary, and ensuring freedom of the media and expression and the right to demonstrate."

Dissenting voices have been rising recently against the policy of the ruling party in the country, which has witnessed a wave of resignations at varying intervals, the last of which was two days ago, after the deterioration of the economic situation and the decline of the lira.
