Executive Council in Euphrates region: Russia has not fulfilled its obligations, responsible for Turkish attacks

The Turkish occupation attacks on the northern and eastern regions of Syria in general continue, despite all the agreements concluded between the countries guaranteeing the ceasefire in the region.

The Turkish occupation mercenaries escalated their attacks on the villages west of Kobani canton, in addition to targeting civilians on the M4 international road, in a clear threat to the goals and features of the security and stability of the people.

In this context, the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates region issued a written statement to the public opinion, which stated:

In light of the spread of the Corona pandemic and the social, economic and psychological harm it causes to the regions of northern and eastern Syria, the Turkish state and its mercenary forces continue to target safe and populated areas of the civilian population in the regions of north and east Syria.

The recent bombing incidents of western Kobani villages were nothing but the implementation of their inherent hatred against the democratic experience of the peoples of northern and eastern Syria, through which they aim to destabilize the region, and hardly provide an effort to undermine the will of these peoples who saw in the democratic experiment a safe haven for peaceful coexistence. On 17/8/2020, the Turkish state and its mercenaries targeted civilians in the villages near the M4 highway, leaving many civilians dead and wounded.

We in the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates region condemn the suspicious silence of the international community and call on it to fulfill its moral duty towards the repeated attacks of the Turkish state, and we hold the Russian state responsible for not fulfilling its obligations in implementing the agreement concluded with the Turkish occupation state through which a ceasefire was agreed upon, which we have committed ourselves to in order to preserve civil peace and the lives of the citizens.
