Politicians criticize KRG, demand position on Turkish attacks

Kurdish political figures in northeast of Syria have criticized the Kurdistan Regional Government for not clarifying its position on the Turkish aggression against southern Kurdistan, Başûr and stressed the need to achieve Kurdish unity to counter the policy of hostility.

The regions of Başûr, southern Kurdistan have been since June 15, under the attacks of the Turkish occupation, which bombed the areas of Şengal and the camp of the martyr Rustam Judy " Mexmûr", and targeted civilians committing massacres against them, in addition to launching attacks on the defense media areas.

These attacks prompted the people of Başûr to rise up against the bases and headquarters of the Turkish occupation in the Shiladizi region and other areas of Başûr. Kurdish National Unity Parties in northeast of Syria also called on Kurdish forces to unify the Kurdish ranks and continue the struggle in the face of the Turkish policy.

At a time when the attack of the Turkish occupation was met with Arab and international outrage and reactions, the position of some Kurdish parties and forces in Başûr has not changed, and kept silent to tolerate the Turkish aggression in committing massacres and occupying the region.

"Avoiding internal differences and unity against the enemy."

In this context, the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and General Coordinator of the of Kurdish Forces Union in Rojava, Abdul Karim Siko said: "The hostility of the Turkish government against the Kurds is not new or strange; this is not the first time that it has attacked southern Kurdistan to exterminate the Kurds".

Siko promised that the attack on Zaxo is an attack on Qamishlo, as all Kurdish regions are one, and Turkey's goal is to eliminate the Kurds without regard to political affiliations.

Siko expressed his surprise of the region’s silence and its failure to show any clear and strict stance on Turkey’s crossing of borders, bombing of the Başûr Kurdistan regions.

He also criticized the region’s silence on Turkey’s attacks , and said: “The region’s government has always been silent about Turkey’s attacks and occupation of the Kurdish areas. It has not shown any position regarding Turkey’s attacks and occupation of Rojava areas for 7 years.” He demanded clear position on the attacks.

"Turkey claims that it is attacking the PKK, but what does Turkey's attack on Rojava and the Başûr Kurdistan regions mean?"

KDP's head stressed the need to Kurdish unity and a political reference in the face of attacks against the Kurdish agreement.

“Nothing defeats the Kurds except internal betrayal.”

For his part, the member of the Kurdistan Republic Party, Bakir Muhammad Issa, linked the Turkish aggression on the regions of southern Kurdistan , the forces mobilization in northeast Syria with Kurdish unity talks.

Issa added: "Turkish attacks have increased, because Kurdish forces and movements are about to achieve Kurdish unity."

He said that Turkey is not only responsible for the attacks, but the occupiers of Kurdistan in the four parts agree on the issue of the Kurds and eliminate them, in addition to them the treatment and complicity of some Kurds with the Turkish aggression.

He clarified that there is no solution to confront the policy of the Turkish occupation except the unity of Kurdish forces. He said, "No one can defeat or weaken the will of the Kurdish people except internal betrayal."

Turning to the timing of the Turkish attacks on the region, Issa said: "When there is a meeting between Turkey and the KRG , an attack will take place in the region the next day. There is no other opinion except for the complicity of KRG wih Turkey's attacks, otherwise they would not have opposed the people's uprising in Shiladize."

It is a shame that the KDP and the Kurdistan Regional Government have a hand with Turkey in killing its people, and he said: "Everyone who deals with Turkey and has a hand in killing the Kurdish people is considered an enemy of the Kurds."

“The Turkish aggression, hostility to the Kurdish national unity”

Khunav Mulla, the co-chair of the Democratic Struggle Party, denounced the Turkish occupation's attacks on the regions of southern Kurdistan.

She said: "Erdogan's goal is to thwart the recent Kurdish national unity talks in northern and eastern Syria and the unity efforts in all parts of Kurdistan."

And she demanded, the KRG has to reject the attacks of the Turkish occupation and break its silence, and clarify its position on those attacks. She also called on the Kurdish people everywhere to go out to the arenas and condemn the attacks and call for unity.

Mulla praised the role of Başûr and Rojava women in facing the Turkish aggression and genocide campaigns against the Kurds, and said, "Women are always at the forefront of the uprisings in the face of the policy of the Turkish occupation, refusing to occupy the enemies of their homeland."

She called on all Kurdish forces and parties to unite and strengthen the defense front for the Kurdish cause.
