US Central Command: We will not leave the region because of Iran's pressure

In an interview with The Washington Post, the US Army's Central Command, Kenneth Mackenzie, said Iran was pressing for the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq.

McKinsey commented on the continued missile attacks on American sites in Iraq, and assured that the United States will not leave the region due to Iranian pressure.

The commander of the US Central Command considered that Iran and its proxies in Iraq were carrying out these attacks because they were unable to win in the political arena, and Mackenzie praised the efforts made by the Iraqi government to deal with Iranian influences.

In attacks not the first of its kind, Iraqi media reported, at dawn on Thursday, 4 Katyusha rockets landed near the US embassy in Baghdad.

The sources also said that the rockets were launched from the Al-Rashid camp area in Baghdad.

Of note, Iraqi military bases hosting American soldiers, as well as the American embassy in Baghdad, have been subjected to repeated missile attacks since months ago, as the frequency of attacks has increased since the killing of the Iranian Quds Force Commander, Qassem Soleimani, in a US air raid in Baghdad in early January.
