Yezidis denounce Turkey's attacks on Şengal and Mexmûr, international silence

The Yezidis Union and the Yazidi Women Union in Afrin canton described the Turkish occupation's targeting of Şengal and Mexmûr refugee camp as a "strike all international agreements against wall". They denounced the international silence, the human rights organization and the United Nations towards Turkey's crimes.

Today, the Yezidis Union and the Yazidi Women Union in Afrin district in Berkhwedan camp issued a joint statement regarding the recent attacks of the Turkish occupation army planes on Şengal and Mexmûr Camp by a member of the Yazidis Union Asad Marko who stated.

"Once again, the Turkish state targets the Yezidi and Kurdish people in Şengal and the Mexmûr camp, which is inhabited by thousands of displaced people, and hospitals and camps, striking all international covenants and norms and at the sight of the world. The new Erdogan wanted to implement his ancestral will and continued his hostility against the Yazidis when ISIS massacred them in 2014, but he also did not reach his goal.

“After ISIS was expelled by their Yezidi Kurds from the YPG, the Şengal Resistance Units, and the guerrilla forces, the security and safety they achieved in those areas and the return of the displaced to their homes recently, Sultan Erdogan returned with a brutal bombardment of the populated civilian population,” .

“We in the Yazidis Union and the Yezidi Women Union in Afrin condemn in the strongest terms the terrible international silence, the human rights organization and the United Nations. We also criticize the silence of the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government and their collusion with the Turkish state over these massacres against our people in Şengal and Başûr Kurdistan.”

In the end, they chanted slogans reviving Şengal resistance and denouncing Turkey's attacks.
