Algerian president, the situation in Libya, is a repeat of the Syrian scenario

Algerian President Abdel Majid Taboun said in an interview with local media on Friday night that the Libyan situation is moving towards a scenario similar to what happened in Syria.

Abdel Majid Taboun stressed, "The tides in Libya do not attract us or interfere with it. Our plan is clear, not for military decisiveness, and discussion and dialogue must be followed because the blood that is flowing is Libyan blood and not the blood of those who take a proxy war."

To that, Taboun said, "We do not have expansionist or economic ambitions in Libya, all we want is to stop the fighting," and pointed out the possibility of cooperation with neighboring countries, whether Egypt or Tunisia, in order to find a solution to the Libyan crisis.

He added: "What we will lose in wars that we are indispensable would prefer to use in our local development instead of the military losses that may be caused by military participation outside the borders away from the Constitution."

This comes at a time when the United Nations continues to seek to urge both the Accord Government and the Libyan army to return to the negotiating table to reach a political solution, amid an almost international and regional consensus that there is no solution in Libya except through politics.
