Afrin villagers: Our crops burn in front of our eyes, we can not extinguish it

With the beginning of the agricultural season in al-Shahba district and the villages of Sherawa district, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries deliberately set fire to hundreds of hectares of wheat and barley crops and burned more than 3 thousand fruitful olive trees, not to mention the fires that deliberately devoured the forest trees in the region, which placed a burden on farmers.

In this context, Hawar news agency ANHA conducted a meeting with the administrator of the Fire Committee, and monitored the views of a number of civilians affected by the fires that devoured their crops.

95% of the causes of fires are Turkish occupation

The administrator of the Fire Follow-up Committee, Mohamed Abdo, indicated at the beginning of his speech that the Turkish occupation army and its mercenary groups are the cause of burning agricultural crops in al-Shahba district and the villages of the Sherawa district.

On the mechanism of dealing with fires ignited by the Turkish occupation, Abdo said: "Since the start of the harvest season, we have been in a state of full alert 24 hours, and fire engines and water tanks are also ready, in addition to agricultural tractors in the event of any emergency."

The occupation intends to target those who are trying to put out the fire

Abdo continued: "When we go to put out the arson fires in al-Shahba canton in Sherawa district, the Turkish occupation deliberately targeted us with heavy and medium weapons in order to prevent us from extinguishing the fire," where Suleiman Jamil Ibrahim, who was trying to put out the fires in the village of Klotiy, was martyred.

Abdo called at the end of his speech, international organizations that did not provide any support to them to put pressure on the Turkish occupation to prevent it from continuing to commit more crimes against nature and human beings.

Turkish occupation deliberately sabotaging the nature of Afrin

Muhammad stressed that the Turkish occupation repeatedly tries to destroy the nature of Afrin by burning its trees. In Sogankeh village, more than 1,500 fruitful olive trees owned by the people of the village, not to mention the forest trees, were burned.

Citizen Omar Muhammed held the responsibility of the Russian state, which opened the way to the Turkish occupation and the mercenary groups, to occupy Afrin, to commit all crimes against civilians, and to tamper with the privacy of Afrin related to nature.

We will remain in our villages

Aisha noted that they could not approach their crops because of the deliberate shells that target them directly.

The citizen preferred Aisha to stay in her village and not to leave their crops and lands for the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, whatever they did to them.

According to the administrator of the Fire Committee, upon completion of the harvest season, they will make a statement about the results of the damage left by the Turkish occupation of agricultural crops for the current year in the Afrin region.
