On Wednesday, The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a statement to the public opinion, through which it revealed the beginning of the process of recording data and records for residents of al-Hol camp.

Statement to Public Opinion

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria is committed to preserving the international peace and security. The Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces in partnership with the International Coalition Forces will be undertaking the process of collecting and registering data about the foreign wives of ISIS members, who call themselves al-Muhajirat, in al-Hol camp, which is the most dangerous camp in the world as it includes large number of ISIS members and their children, this measure is taken to preserve security and prevent terrorist acts in our region and around the world.

This collection of data helps improves the living and humanitarian conditions inside al-Hol camp, as well as facilitate coordination with the countries whose nationals reside in the camp and urge them to assume their responsibilities towards their citizens. It will help find a solution to the complicated situation in the camp, given the huge number of women and children living in it.

In this context, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and its military and security apparatus are committed to respecting human rights and international conventions. Accordingly, there will not be any coercion against any of the camp's residents regardless to their nationality.
