Today marks the fourth anniversary of the start of the campaign to liberate the city of Manbij and its countryside from ISIS mercenaries

The campaign was led by Manbij Military Council (MMC), with the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), on June 1, 2016, and it was able to liberate the city in mid-August of the same year.

On this issue, Hawar news agency (ANHA) interviewed with the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Civil Administration for the city of Manbij and its countryside, Mohammad Khair Sheikho, to highlight the importance of the liberation campaign.

Sheikho considered that choosing Manbij as part of the chain of liberation of areas controlled by ISIS mercenaries is a wise and correct decision."

And he stressed that Manbij's liberation had the greatest role in achieving victory, where was considered as life line for the military and logistical supply of ISIS mercenaries which fed other areas, especially as military and logistical supplies were reaching ISIS mercenaries from the Syrian lands that Turkey now occupies across the Turkish border."
